IC: SR20 motorset out of my Coupe

cross posted from SON240sx

I am not too keen on repairing my coupe after hitting that deer:

I think this is a good opportunity to move on and upgrade. However, i will not even consider parting a single part from my car before the motor is sold as it is the most expensive part of the car.

If you know me at all you know that this build was one of the most trying experiences of my life…lol… headache after headache…

However, after Guatam redid my harness from scratch and after Sasha convinced me to go AEM this car has been driven every single day.

In 5 months i have over 17,000km’s on the engine, daily driven and driven extremely hard. This motor has not been babied in any way. It hits 170-200kph every morning (usually on the highway, sometimes not) and i buried the needle well beyond 7000rpm a few dozen times today. Yes it’s noisey on cold start ups but shut up and die if you dont like it. I didnt build a motor to pussy-foot around.

Mod list to the motor as follows:

S13 SR20DET redtop block and head with redtop accessories, sensors and harness

Inside:

Arias forged pistons, ceramic coated tops and skirts
Arias rings and wrist pins
Eagle Con-Rods
Cometic metal Headgasket – buttons removed, separated and seal sprayed
ARP head studs
ARP main studs
Bings Rocker arm Stoppers
HKS Step 1 Cams
256 intake
264 exhuast
Balanced crank to the flywheel and drive pulley
Block honed and bored .020 over for pistons
Block and Head resurfaced
Ceramic coated combustion chambers
All OEM Nissan bearings with the proper grades
Every single gasket in the motor is brand spanking new

Again; just under 18,000km’s on this set up so you know it works.

Outside:

Garrett GT2817R .64 a/r turbo charger
Taka turbo lines
Bings manifold – ceramic coated / heat wrapped
Bings 3” turbo extension
Deatchwerks 650cc injectors
Bings SR20DET intake manifold
Bings polished aluminum pulley set
Brand new OEM nissan belts
PERFECT harness redone wire by wire from scratch this year.
SPEC stage 3 – 6 puck ceramic clutch / fully rebuilt by Euro-Drive

  • New ceramic friction plates on the disc
  • Machined pressure plate for greater clamping forceUnknown lightened flywheel, 11lbs approx, balanced.
    Greddy style Oilpan
    Bings Shortshifter

There is more here, but you get the idea. There really is no other SR20 built like this one in Ontario. Yeah some people have pistons and rods, but i spent several hundred in extra machining, ceramic coating, balancing etc. Motor got a full oem gasket set when rebuilt and countless other parts too. This is not your basic rebuild

Every component of the motor was professionally attended to by New Generation Motors on HWY 20 outside of Niagara Falls. Most components, including head, oil pump, block etc. were re&re’d, rebuilt, cleaned or otherwise refreshed.

At only 15psi the car made over 320whp with a silky smooth torque curve hitting 260 ft. lbs.

With more boost (easily handled) this motor can easily hit 370whp on the existing set up… i just never bothered to crank it because the current power is more than enough for street.

With more aggressive cams and a .86 housing turbo this motor will put out 400whp+. If you go top mount you can say hello to numbers just like Dans.

motor is running the car right now, has perfect compression.

i just put a new power steering pump on it and i change the oil every couple weeks.

If someone is serious about building an SR powered car this would be a good place to start.

I would NOT consider offers under $4000 for this set up. I’d rather stick it in an FD3s or my uncle’s 510.

If you have the $$$ then we can talk.

I would like in the vacinity of $5000 for it and when we get to that level we can talk about other stuff like electronics and other things that i have for this. No computer included in the listed price.

Uhg… :frowning:

Good buy for someone out there…

Pics of said deer brain ?

PM about turbo, turbo extension and down pipe please!!!

I was one of the last people to ride in the car the day of the crash and this motor sounded / felt really solid…
