I was just browsing eBay and saw the cheap BIN on this auction; decided to investigate. Without reading the description, whats the first thing that comes to mind while viewing the pictures?
My vote is the GF.

The way you described it, I thought it was your car. And your girlfriend.
its gonna be a PITA to get that windsheeild and sunroof to seal correctly again, best bet is remove the sunroof and weld the roof closed and do what you can to the windsheild area or try to find a donor roof to cut/weld in
without reading it looks like he pissed someone off and they took a baseball bat to it…
From his listing:
This bmw had a tree size branch fall on the roof also damaging the passenger side fender, hood and windshield but no frame damage just replace the hood and fender and thats it.The sunroof did not crack. Most of the roof damage is towards the front of the roof. The top of the dash board has a few small cuts from the glass- it’s close to the window so once you replace the window they wont be that noticeable. The broken glass was all cleaned up from the interior. The passenger side mirror is broken. The driver;s side fender has a small dent and the marker light is cracked. Xenons work perfect and are not damaged. The driver’s interior door-panel has a tear on the handle and the radio does not work. Battery needs a charge to start up. There are a few small dings here and there but other than that the car is straight and clean!!

Exactly what I thought. I had images of that Audi with the Pick axes all over it going through my head.
THEkid: I could see 2 of my ex’s doing that to a car lol.

:biglol:
to be honest, there are too many windows/head/tail lights still intact for it to be someone pissed off with a baseball bat. Those are the first things to go usually. I would vote with the tree branch on this one
meh, it looks like damage from a tree.

:word:
Looks too extensive to be from a baseball bat.
I still can’t get over:
“just replace the hood and fender and thats it.”
so his GF threw a tree at the car? she must be one big ass amazon bitch
Why bother? $10k for that and it is going to need another $7K in work and still never be correct? Just buy a better one and be done with it.
It is an easy fix in my eyes, but they are somehow looking to still get full price for the car  not gonna happen.
They should have said : Replace passenger side mirror and buy a good set of ski goggles and you are all set.
Its a pretty simple fix but nowhere near worth the $.
We did it all the time at the benz store. Cut roofs off and weld the new pieces in. Not really that much of an adventure if you have skill.
buy car, give to lafengas, drive away poorer with a CF roof, a-pillar and mirrors!
that has gf written all over it because she was on her cell phone texting her friends while doing her makeup with a tim horton’s coffee in her hand (I have actually seen my wife accomplish this, although i was driving)
I’d bet the person didn’t have the proper insurance to cover the car, although it wouldn’t surprise me if an insurance company tried to define that as an “act of God”.
insurance> crazy gf… people need to learn cars are not cheap to fix, proper coverage should be a no brainer esp. with an expensive car like a bmw
