i'd like to see...

you goin to PRP friday?

I think you won’t go to either cause you are affraid the car will run 12’s with 1000whp

whats the best you think you could pull off in a 1000whp car your first time driving it with over 1000hp?

don’t know but with 1000whp you could bet your life I would drive it at every drag event I could timed or not to get better

i heard it didnt even break a 12 :embarassd

13.04@129

wow…

what’s the earliest you can run at PRP?

I’ve never dragged anything, and I want to get a timeslip in the Reno before winter for shits and giggles.

runs start around 6 and end around 10. You’ll probably want to be one of the first ppl to go. This way you can get your slip around 10.

ok… i need to be at Friday’s in North Hills by 11 for my weekly cheese sticks dipped in BBQ sauce and seven-dollar drinks…

i’m guessing, since i’ve never launched at a track and my car is slower than the windowlickers on the short bus, I’ll run about 18 seconds or more… :dunno:

Im going to say this once, i dont know who you are. Maybe your one of those faggots that drive away and on their way past and say some ignorant shit. Maybe your not. But im sick and tired of fuckin people sayin shit, when they dont even know how to make 1200hp, let alone drive it. And for anyone who sees this and feels the need to say something to me; about me or my car, PLEASE say it to my face instead of when im driving past or when you decide to leave.

I would like to see anyone on this forum try to launch a 88mm turbo, on a 6spd on their first time out. period. Its hard shit. And for you people that say ohh man that car makes 1000rwhp and run a 13 whatever… First off, It was the first time down the track on teh setup, i wasent there to make a number i was there to find out what adjustments had to be made. And also, im not plowing down the track at anywhere near 1000rwhp probably hardly at 700rwhp. Last night was a learning night, i learned that i need a new tire setup, the drag radials on the 18’s are notorious for wheel hop and breaking shit, so i took it easy out of the hole and the turbo took seroiusly 5 seconds to spool… Then i tried Mark’s et streets which are signifigantly smaller than my front wheels and as most of you know thats not a good idea, the car would not stay straight.

So before all you decide to jump to conclusions about me or my car, why dont you get the facts straight first and do everyone a favor. The car runs fins, its just a situation of getting my tires/brakes and finding something that works in the mean time.

SCS will u be ar prp tomorow, or will u wait for different tires?

I agree, i mean shit I couldnt launch my car after I built it. Takes time, practice and research to get your setup correct. I still couldnt launch all that good on the track :probably cuz i hardly went: but became dam good gettin it goin on the street.

its gonna sound funny coming from me cuz I gave him alot of shit but lay off of JP

listen harry potter. it isn’t rocket science here. you have a turbo that has a 2000rpm powerband. I could throw a GT40R on my car now and make 700whp but have a powerband that is useless. in fact most people can learn how to make a # by just reading, but gettin it to run is totally another story.

you have said time and again 9.XX within a few weeks. well that was 2 turbos ago and I have yet to hear of a 10. seems to me the bigger turbo you run the slower you go. Maybe you should have read a big more and got a turbo with a useable powerband and have the power come on more linear and you would hit your times.

in the end your turbo is too big and you didn’t build the car with a overall goal in mind if you would have you wouldn’t be full of excuses and empty on times.

PS- vinny ten ran mismatched wheel tire combos for years buddy and never had an issue with the car all over the track and he went mid 8’s at the time.

without even reading and just doing some math I figured out the tires you need for the car to sit flat like I said it isn’t rocket science.(you will need a 33-34" tall tire to get the car to hook but you probably don’t have room under the fenders without raising the rear up so stick to supra forums and car shows)

EDIT: how are you goin to jump all over me when I was the one saying I hope you make it to NDRA in october. I was trying to be nice, but you must have lost your broomstick racer this morning or something.

totally agree but he said flashlights is a waste of time when infact if you want to learn how to drive a set up you go to every possible event you can to PRACTICE.

2 years ago I was at PRP at least 1 time every week for the entire summer

Great post, im glad of all these years of running high 11’s low 12’s have really paid off… You said it anyone can make a number but getting it to run is a totally different story. Your right, and you think people learn how to do that the first time out on a setup. give me a break.

“in the end your turbo is too big and you didn’t build the car with a overall goal in mind if you would have you wouldn’t be full of excuses and empty on times.”

I did have a goal in mind, and i still have that goal in mind … but you cant do it the first time out and i would bet my life that it took you awhile to get into the 11’s or whatever your best time is… and shit, your racing at 1/8th of the power i am… so dont say that you know how to drive or have a better idea cause you dont… you cant compare a mouse to a lion. cause it just doesnt work.

I usually dont agree with you, but you are right in what you say. From the turbos i switched, i hardly had any time on any of them. The first one i would say i had the most… and still was hardly any at all. I know its my fault for switching and not going to the track but here i am i have my setup and now its time for pratice…

you have a few valid points, but you will never get better unless you practice which is the point of all this. take it to the track and run it, then the next week go back and do it again, till you get better. you are either goin to be dedicated to it or you aren’t

not to jump on you Sam but your comparing JP to Vinny Ten? thats like apples and oranges. Its my understanding that the supra has been having issues here and there, you cant take a broke/malfuntioning car to the track and pull quality times.

Give him time to get his launch/tire setup right. Despite what most ricers think 10sec cars just dont happen overnight.

Right, thats what im sayin, its all in practice and time… which is what im going to be doing… now i need some skinnies.

the flashlights would be a waste of time, flashlights is more of a street style setup as opposed to a prepped race track. launchin characteristics would be different
