illegal car

oh yeah?

how, pray tell, is that

Bobo is a fart smeller FYI.

Though I don’t really understand why they would care if you purchased a car and used it for off road activities only.

Unless this guy swapped vins or something.

yeah theres got to be more to the story

…x2…

that car is not on the list of eligible vehicles, end of story

FTP

x2, If he said it was purchased for off road use only I do not see where the problem would be.

you all clearly dont understand import laws

you cant just say its a race car and bring it over…

Why?

You can disable a gun and have it as art and all you have to do it weld the barrel off.

FTP lol

Because the government doesn’t say it’s legal. For it to be brought over as a ‘race’ car it has to have a racing history, with proof. Along with a list of paperwork. Brilliantyellow would know on these matters… :fyi:

I’d like to see some more info on that then. I don’t have first hand experience with the law on these matters but I have seen a lot of cars listed as FS for track use only.

When I first read the article I assumed the buyer and seller was caught trying to swap vin/titles or something else like that during the transaction in order to falsify information regaurding it.

search vwvortex with his username…that man does know the laws…when its to late.

I read some thing where he had 2 dash boards and 2 shells at a shop and they were confiscated because they thought he was attempting to swap them. If that’s what you’re referencing here it doesn’t really apply. I would just like to see some actual/factual information regarding the law in this specific case. Like I said, I’m not familiar with everything and am not trying to start an arugment. I actually want to know.

Nope, lets just say a 89 rallye golf went into the crusher do to a company importing it wrong for him

Doesnt the all trac celica = the GT4 anyways?

i know the ins and outs of importing
i just wish i knew then what i know now…

mike is right, and so am I

dont try and skirt the laws, the consequences suck
lawyers cost alot of $$ when you have to go to Federal Court

http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=2963211

That surely does suck.

Why don’t you post up a quick list of points so everyone can read the sticky forever. I know this would probably answer a lot of peoples questions. Law is often times confusing and doesn’t ever seem to make sense.

GT-Four is RHD and in 1994 there was no All-Trac in the USDM, as far as I’m aware.

yes there was… Raven had one back in the UBRF days

edit maybe his isnt a 94

i would at least try a better car

the all-trac celicas are pretty competent cars in the right hand, especially for when they were released
