In our new house (finally)

Well, we finally moved into the new timber frame house.
It took about 18 months and still is not finished.
You will notice some of the trim details aren’t quite finished yet.
It seemed to take forever, ask my wife.
Below is a link to photobucket. (I hope it works)
The pictures are pretty bad but it you get the idea of what it looks like.

that’s a serious house! congratulations. I can’t wait to close on mine, but at the same time, I’m not looking forward to payments.

Very nice sir, very nice indeed.

wow. great use of architectural elements and material choice.

 sweeeet f’in house man. did you design it yourself or was it previously there?

Nice
Where is it located?

Awesome, looks like a Home and Garden house.

nice, thats a ryan home right?

nice question. sort of like asking “how would you like your hamburger cooked, medium or hotdog?”

Looks great

What are the specs…the great room/kitchen area looks pretty sweet

good god man…thats a fuckin HOT house… what sq ft?? how many bedrooms

We designed it with help from others.
It is in East Aurora (town of Aurora actually).
No it’s not a Ryan home.(I am assuming that was a joke:biglaugh:.)

where is it? nice place

How do you like it when the open timber frame pops and sounds like a gunshot lol?

Looks great and congrats!

jesus christ, nice house. i love the kitchen.

Thanks.
Yeah, the house is constantly making noises, some very loud like a gun.
You can see how much it has checked already.
Those timbers were solid and smooth when they were erected.
Now you can almost fit your hand in some of the cracks.

my family built a post and beam house in PA back in the early 90s… same deal - sounds like a gun.

I have a friend in Rochester with a tiber frame constructed house. He was losing a ton of heat through the beams to the outside. He did a reverse blower test and I infrared it for him. Saved quite a bit on heating/cooling. And his house was only 3 years old.

If you were ever interested let me know.

congratulations man thats a beautiful place… what color/material are you gonna use on the outside??
