Intermittent Starting Issue (Chokes during turning ignition)

KAe. Has trouble starting. 1/6 times does not start. Idle is not steady.

Problem started after I relocated my battery and custom fitted a shorter intake piping. The two tubes that originally connected to the intake are connected and have been checked for vacuum leaks… Only things left unplugged is the hose that to the emissions downpipe box-thing and the air temperture sensor that fits to the air box.

So my question is would be; Does anyone have any thoughts on what could be causing the problem other then a vacuum leak? I was thinking maybe one of the two hoses (smaller of the two) that connect to the intake may not be getting adequate air - i had to use adapter to shrink fit it onto my piping…

Why dont you just connect everything. Probaly would help. I was experiencing something like that, but mine would start ever turn. I had a cone on there and that box thing was connected, but the little air temp plug wasn’t, i went out bought a k&n filter put it in the stock box and connected everything, and man was i happy WAY BETTER IDLE when the car started it started how it was suppose to rev high for a bit then went down to regular idle. It wasn’t doing that before. Just connect that box thing and i think it would work.
