Invisalign

Anyone here ever have it done? Testimonials or recommendations? I’m sure I’m not the only one on here that isn’t happy with their smile.

Please post any experiences, thanks!

have a version of it for a retainer that i havent worn in years. relatively comfortable once you get used to it.

In for results as well. My teeth are fucked up, mainly due to overcrowding and breaking three of them BMXing.

My dentist told me it’s not very doable if you snack all day vs. eating a smaller amount of large meals. I can’t remember the exact details but it was enough to make me say “no thanks.”

If you have the money it works. It’s no different than traditional braces in the way it shifts your teeth.

Well I was hoping someone on here could recommend me an ortho, but I’ll start consoltations based on highest ratings.

I’m pretty sure my brother got something similar from Aurora Dental…you could contact them.

I never had braces and mine aren’t too bad, but if I had a grand to burn I’d probably do it at my dentist. I’m happy with my dentist. I go here:

I heard this is only an option for certain people depending on your mouth. I know a few people who went in and their only option was braces.

Really appropriate timing for this thread in my life right now too. I had conventional braces when I was younger but never wore my retainer and now im getting some really bad shifting. Ive heard a lot of numbers thrown around but anyone have any ideas about what insurance generally covers or possibly about the retainer versions of it?

lol “Hey guys what does my insurance cover?”

Just call your dentist. They can tell you exactly what your out of pocket would be. For me it was somewhere around a grand.

Well I know ive heard the same number thrown around by several people so I thought there was a general coverage for most dental plans…

Im in a forum, im facilitating laziness by bypassing that step hence asking you chodes

Thank you for enabling my laziness. Nothing worse than having to put effort into being lazy.

BUMP! Wearing them right now!

I’m going to start a progress blog

Honestly though, after a couple hours of getting used to them, I forget they’re there, and I’ve had them for a couple days, no one has mentioned anything XD

Cost? I was told $3k out of pocket as a ball park.

I started my invisalign in July. I had extensive ortho work done as a kid/teen, I was missing teeth, etc. When it was finally done, I walked out of the office with a perfect smile. Years later and not wearing my retainer, my teeth had shifted. I spoke to my orthodontist again and he recommended the invisalign.

It’s not cheap, but at 23, I figure it’s a small drop in the bucket for the rest of my life. I got really self conscious about my smile after my teeth began to shift. I couldn’t be happier with the invisalign results so far. I’m almost half done with my “trays” and am excited to have my smile back.

Cost 5400 - 500 (promotion thing) - 650 from insurance = 4200ish

In my case, my work gives me an HSA and a yearly contribution, which I can apply toward the invisalign, my cost was 3k in the end

How bad were your teeth. Mine are pretty bad, but this is something I would consider.

Mine are not horrible, crowding at the bottom, 2 small gaps and 1 large gap up top

I’ll post some pics a bit later tonight

I honestly don’t see why people think teeth are that big of a deal. I mean unless you’re some Austin Powers looking mofo I think you’ll be ok.

My teeth are not that pretty, and frankly I just don’t give a damn (well not $3,000+ a damn). I partially believe this is also detrimental to the long term well being of your teeth. I know people who have paid $x,xxx for braces, that then have to pay $x,xxx for the over bite they made worse, then pay another $x,xxx for the receding gum line to to moving the teeth so much. Forget about it I say, I’d rather have a Rolex.
