Is it me, or do Plasti-Dipped cars look like shit?

I did it on wheels to check to see if I wanted to invest in nice wheels of that color. I did black, then realized that I hated it three months later. Instead of being out hundreds of dollars, I just peeled it off. I also did white, then realized that white wheels are a PITA.

Would be great for protecting paint on road trips to shows instead of taping a bunch of shit

im og, i’d tape over using it any day.

Tape FTW

i used it on my truck chrome trim. works good.

also good for blacking out emblems.

they make it in clear so if you want to protect your ride for track day or cruise it looks better than tape imo.

also good if you want to tint your tail lights but unsure if you want to keep them tinted you can easily remove.

might be funny to plasti dip someones emblems pink. then easily remove after prank.

i think its amazing. also works great for tools. dip metric wrenches in one color standard in another. same with screw drivers. makes things quicker… adds grip to things too.

used it to store steel/iron engine parts. just sprayed it and un wraped it when i needed it. like the tightest fitting bag.

even used this shit to seal a leaky tent roof camping.

same except for when someone paints the bumper shitty and the paint comes off with the tape lol

where can you buy this shit?

i cant wait to see the first dumbass to use this on their intercooler :number1

Home Depot usually has spray cans in black.

Just took the plasti dip off my wheels last night. Whatever the spray and wash uses for a tire cleaner started eating through it lol.

id like to use this for maybe front emblem on the evo.

It’s great for little stuff like that. Super forgiving too. Easily removable if you change your mind. I’m finding the more coats you use the easier it is to remove since its thicker and doesn’t tear as easy when peeling off.

i think they look great when they are sprayed from a paint sprayer , cans leave tiger stripes .

nothing fucking worse then that.

or maybe the person spraying the can wasnt too good. i have seen rustoleum roll on paint jobs that look like a show winner at local shows.

a good painter paints good. its like tuning go to the tuner with most exp and people backing up his work. usually if you want a quality job you will pay more.

i am sure someone at CRC can paint with a spray can better than most who dont paint for a living.

painting is a skill so dont blame it on the can.

True story, with proper application it looks great from the can.

Im all for plast-dipped wheels. Peoples taste change all the time and getting something powdercoated each time is expensive. If done right it can look amazing. Not a huge fan of an entire car. If most auto body just accepted plasti-dip and didnt bash it they could make so much more money if thats what a customer wanted.

Their new wheel paints seem interesting for someone who just bought a set of wheels in a color they don’t like that much:

Ive watched highschool kids with little to no paint experience dip a car and have it look great. As long as you dont dump the dip on and make it all runny it dries pretty flat most of the time.

Even I have used the cans, I was going to dip my hood and stickerbomb it. Well all the stickers came off but the black dried pretty even. If I didnt use dip clearcoat the stickers probably woulda stuck!

Yeah as long as you do light coats and wait a good 30-45 min between coats it’s very forgiving. If you try to do it all in one coat odds are it will look like junk.

The Vintage gold looks pretty good.
