some things just want to fuck up dont they… I was doing 170km/h in third gear at 7psi when all of the sudden I look back and I see nothing… my car is flying down the highway like a rocket making clouds of white smoke that everyone has to slow down cause they cant see shit… i look at the cluster the oil pressure light is on… so i turn the thing off and roll to a stop…
… and my oil filter is gone
i put on another one and refilled it and started it, tried driving but it blew off again…
I am using infinity G20 oil filter, anyone have a part number for me cause I tried a nissan filter and it wouldnt fit, if anyone has a filter part number for a 52F blacktop SR20DET from nissan it would be greatly appreciated…
also white smoke = coolant rihgt ? does this mean i blew my headgasket ? it happened after I downshifted into 3rd and went at it… but why would it happen right when my filter blew off ? bah this sucks… .
only thing I can think of is really high oil pressure and the first thing to give was your oil filter… and now after popping it fux0red your threads… can’t really tell without a gauge.
and I don’t think it was water you lost, check the rad see if there is still coolant.

i was at 120 i threw it into 3rd, gunned it, to like 170-180, than i see smoke behind me like frmo a rocket during launch billowing frmo under my car, it was so much i dont even think it was from the exhaust, what i think is the filter was off and it sucked air through the oil filter passage and spit it back out heat up and misted with oil cause half my car is coevered in green oily shit, anyway heres the update…
i got a 15208-53J00 filter from a friend, put it on, poured in oil, and she started up, i waited for it to warm up, listened to it and check the filter a few times, she sounds normal, no smoke, I revved her up a few times into boost to 7500, still no smoke from the pipe, checked coolant it seems to be pure green and none missing, i drove her down the street and back WOT no problems, than I drove home cause I was at friends hsuoe the whole time
during the day I went through 12 litres of oil, 3 oil filters, and a shitload of headache… tomorow I’ll pull the plugs and do a compression test…
also jsut so everyone knows not to ever fukkin trust nissan, fram, or anyone but yourself for that matter, I will update tomorow whether I have a blown head gasket or if it billows smoke… gah
you might detect rod knock and might have a bearing blow up in the next few weeks of driving, drain the oil again RIGHT away and look for metal shavings. if there are metal shavings you’re fucked.
Dont even bother holding 3rd gear till past 150 dude…believe me on that one…just cuz ure revving high doesnt mean ure gonna win a race, this isnt a k20 motor…be safe…
Raw oil pouring out and getting burned is a different color than oil that burns through your motor and out the exhaust.
When I popped the first turbo on my 200sx I could have made Spy Hunter proud. My entire neighborhood disappeared in smoke, along with half my parking lot from one WOT pass.
The filter is above the crank, so your crank case probably had oil the entire time.
I wouldn’t recommend you keep doing this though LOL
But your motor is probably ok. Probably shortened its life a bit, but not life-threatening.
These motors have notoriously weak oil pumps, so I’d be more inclined to believe they were selling you the wrong filter, rather than having that much oil pressure suddenly. The things are only supposed to be a bit past finger tight.

But I find it really funny how many people are trying to tell Vlad how to drive his car. If you’ve ever seen him on the track, it sounds like he was out for a cruise and taking it easy when the filter came out

oil doesnt always burn blue when it goes through your motor
i had a problem with the valve cover gasket leaking oil into the spark plug chamber, when i removed the plug, the oil fell into the cylinder and when i started the car with the new plugs it burnt off.
a rev to 3000rpm in neutral and half the block disappeared in a cloud of WHITE smoke

THe last time I put a filter on I had a bitch of a time getting it on the threads, after 10 minutes of pissing around I just jacked the car up and did it from below.
Last time I checked I could not find another oil filter for the SR20, not fram, none, only the nissan original.
hey guys I wired a relay into my cluster low oil pressure light and hooked up a loud buzzer to it, so when/if it goes on (most of us dont see it) but my buzzer will sound and i will know to shut off my car, hell, i could even hook it up so it shuts my car off
