Jesus Debate

“And while you’re at it, fuck JC! He got off easy! A day on the cross, a weekend in hell, and all the hallelujahs of the legioned angels for eternity!”

Fixed that one for you there.

:word: The problem with many people who claim to be religious is that they don’t act like it, or they act all self ritous. They don’t fallow many of the key teachings of the Bible. A major one is being non judgemntal. That is one of the biggest problems I have with many “religious” people. The Bible teaches that everyone is a sinner and we have no right to judge others, only God can do that. People act like just because they go to church that they are better than people who don’t. The church my parents go to is the only one I’ve ever been to where they treat everybody the exact same, regardless of who you are or your social status. I believe in God, but I am not really religious. I don’t go to church, nor do I walk around preaching. I am a person who has faith, meaning I believe in God, but I don’t activly go to church and participate in church activities. Even if you do not believe in the Bible or God, you can still appreciate the moral concepts that it teaches (which are very similar to pretty much every major religion really), Such as bing good to your fellow man, not being judgemental, not stealing, not killing etc. Through people’s actions they have tainted the principals that the Bible teaches and given it a bad rep.

IIRC in Roman Catholocism they’d go to hell because they haven’t been baptised and thus have not had the mortal sin of Adam & Eve tarnishing God’s paradise washed away.

[/quote]

Well, isn’t the original sin conscientiousness, a state of mind that wasn’t reached until they ate the apple (as the story goes)? So the real question would be had the fetus achieved conscientiousness?

Besides if this so called “god” is truly a benevolent creature based on forgiveness eternal hell does not exist as a punishment.

well put.

As I tell all my friends, family, peers. My relationship between me and God is exactly that, between me and God. Its pretty apparent we’re all fucked up and no matter how much church/activities/helping poor people we do will NOT change who and what we are. I call myself christen and that’s that, I find it stupid that both Catholics and protestants believe in the same God but find the right to bash each other, undermining the entire point of Christianity. From what I’ve experienced no matter what your forgiven, and that if you do have faith, things will work out for a reason.

What gets me the most is when people say “I’ll pray for you” as if they actually do or will. In the Butch’s daughters thread there is 3 pages of people saying they will pray for her when they will jump into this thread and bash God. I think that’s the ultimate form of disrespect to both God and the people you wish to pretend you helping.

Stick with what you believe and know things will work out in the end.

this whole thread is a big cluster fuck of horribly misspelled words

christen?
bariel?

maybe im a genius but i learned how to spell words like those in 5th grade.
it just makes the comical value of this thread go up i guess.

lol God forgives me of my spelling errors

^^ i know im just messing.

this thread is almost like watching the special olympics.

Believing in God and saying you are Christian should have some effect on your daily lifestyle.

wherever there is ganehsa, there is success and prosperity

Oh it has an effect. I just feel it is not right for people trying to constantly push it on others. I surround myself with mostly non-believing friends in hopes of them seeing how you can see be who you are, and have that Christian side to you.

*note- Christian is spelled right

this thread needs to die on a cross just like jesus supposedly did.

fuck religion, i prefer my car forum of choice talking about zombies and ninjas
