Jesus Rifles!!!

wrong. trijicon released the acog. government released a rfq for optics. trijicon sent a proposal for the acog. government accepted. As a manufacturer well versed in doing business with the government, its clear that they could have denied the ACOG right in the beginning and chosen an inferior product because of the religious ties to the markings.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve had very close friends in the military, and I’d want the absolute best tools that money could buy for them, regardless of what is printed on the side.

And your going to believe the Media?!?!?!?

I’ve been involved in military projects, read 10000’s of pages of military requirements when it comes to hardware. And there is NOTHING in there regarding religious markings on weapons or any other hardware.

And I’m arguing the fact that I could make my Model number SUCKMYCOCKFUCKER and it would meet requirements.

Regardless of if the 6 letters and numbers mean something to someone; In all reality go grab a random serial number of letters and numbers off most military hardware and I’m betting you can find ones that just randomly could reference the bible or whatever.

Oh, and if he had maybe made it reference a different book of fiction would it then be alright? Maybe something from a Dan Brown novel or Dale Brown, or whomever?

burnt: you do realize “in god we trust” was added in 1957 because people where scared of communism taking over. (I’m not sure how this helped)

tech: those one the military side who violated the rules should be punished if they knew what was going on during the approval process since they violated the rules.

97: say it straight - do you deny that proselytizing is prohibited?

obviously I want the best tools, adding religion to the guns doesn’t make them any better and can only hurt for the reasons listed already.

The problem is, “we” the people who left to “escape” religious persecution were the psycho religious whack jobs, not the ones who were happy we left.

While I agree with you that we need a larger separation, it is a total up hill battle.

That I do. But in saying that. I don’t believe that this was/is that one bit. Weapons makers and makers of every product for generations have put hidden messages, symbols, etc into them. Most computer codes have hidden information placed in them; car parts have things engraved into them people will never see; PCB boards in your cell phones could have something in the way the board was laid out on the inner layers no one would ever know about . What if your Iphone has a Jewish Star of David in it that couldn’t be seen, but was there? Should we then all consider it a Jewish item? therefor pushing religion?

Where does it stop?!?!?!?

This is where we all need to put our big girl panties on and stop throwing shit fits about little BS and concentrate on things that have a bigger effect on our lives than how one scope mfg wants to assign model numbers to a product he makes.

it’s not the end of the world, but it’s a problem that should have and could have been avoided. I honestly don’t care if I don’t know - but I do know, and it’s all over the headlines and one more argument for the enemy to use against us. I feel it makes us less safe as a result.

Honestly… the enemy hates us so much… this is just one more thing… at this point I agree with Carlin… It’s a Cock War about who’s cock is bigger and who’s big-guy-in-the-sky is right.

Humans… it’s too bad our nature is to destroy ourselfs.

well obviously the enemy hates us or they wouldn’t be our enemy… but this gets them more supporters so they can do us more harm.

and as a last note before I head off to the gym – religious email rick roll FTW:

This statement is possibly the most rational thing you’ve said, and does not at all sound like it came from the same person who previously said the following:

In the end, it’s there, it’s not going to go away nor change the functionality of the weapon. Unfortunately it will only be a big deal from now on because of people that think the way you did in the 2nd quotation, the biggest offender being the media.

all gone…

Trijicon, the gunsight maker that has imprinted Bible verse numbers on its scopes, has announced that it will no longer imprint the verses on the sides of scopes intended for the U.S. military, and will also provide clients with the kits to remove the Bible verse numbers from existing scopes.

Earlier today, Gen. David Petraeus, who commands CentCom, which oversees U.S. forces in Iraq and Afghanistan, told a D.C. thinktank that the company’s practice was “disturbing …and a serious concern for me” and field commanders. He said there had been considerable discussions within the Department of Defense about how to deal with Trijicon’s practice.

What is disturbing is that this is something people are putting any amount of thought in to…

I agree. The money, time and energy can be spent in MUCH better ways that will BENEFIT our soldiers in the field. This is bullshit, fuck liberal pussies.

pretty sure the company who violated the rule is footing the bill.

as they should.

+1

if im gonna move, its gonna be someone warm.

I’m thinking barcelona.

. wow. seriously? there are so many other major problems going on and this is what the liberals decide to bitch about? We are soooo fucked.
