Great pickup - a dream of most import owners

Hope to see vids of it sideways this forthcoming summer

I’m sure it will be sideways within minutes of having it on the road…

before. I’ve seen his driveway in HF

Yeah, you’re right. We do have a decent sized driveway, he can pull it off, haha.

Bwuahahahah, yeah, definitely could pull donuts off in our driveway without a doubt. Siq camera view from the bathroom?

Made two disappointing discoveries today…

#1 The car was originally bright orange and was repainted red (UHHG, had it been orange I would’ve just left it)
#2 I found a few rot holes in the floorboards, was kinda expected, and I’m not upset considering the deal I got, but I was holding out a small sliver of hope that the entire chassis was rot free.

Pics!

Some of the stuff that came with the car, the blown trans, and the center piece of the lip spoiler that needs to be repaired. Some idiot decided to just chunk away a section rather than shaving the push button for the hatch lid. Uhhg.

The original Orange of the car. Wish it was still that!

Man I love the interior on these… can you say Defi gauges?

Found this in the spare tire well with the other transmission parts, yep, she definitely spanked the trans.

That’s all for today, tonight I’ll pull the undercoating off the floorboards inside and figure out the extent of the rust, it doesnt appear to be to bad. I think I mayyyy drive it around this year with the new drivetrain/suspension and the faded paint. But that’s just a possibility. When it does get painted, it’s either going factory Orange or Lambo Verde Ithaca, not any of those poop yellow or puke green colors.

ill i gotta say is you have one big job ahead of you to refinish this car. i wish you the best on this and deff cant wait to see how this turns out!!

Hope the cancer is not too bad

Spence on the bright side the drop in (weld in) floorboards are only $300 + labor for someone to weld them in. Even if I decide to replace both sides I should be able to keep costs down relatively far with bribes of alcohol. That is, if I dont decide to just patch it.

In relative comparison to the majority of classic Z cars out there, mine has zero rot.

After doing floorboards before, I’d say it’s definitely worth going for the full weld-ins.

Yeah floor boards should be realitively easy, cut and weld in. Should be interesting though to see whats under that faded orange paint if you decide to really tear into the body work. Thats when things get expensive and time consuming.

DEFI guages for sure! it looks like it will be really easy to make that interior look almost “modern” (considering all the current Retro interiors)

X…

This project looks awesome and it should actually get completed!

Weld in the fulls. I’ll be doing that this year too.

Car definitely looks to be in great shape.

If you are looking for a hand working on this bad boy, let me know. I like the practice.

Not to bad considering the age of this beast.

Good luck and it will be a awesome project, I like the orange more than that green.

the green SCREAMS omfg look at me.

ironically i had a new set of floorpans from charlie i sold a year or so ago

Engine is ready to come out, gonna pull that tomorrow night, all I need to do is disconnect the exhaust. Oddly the car still had very clean coolant in it.

is your dash crack free?
