Just a random, random ferrari insurance question.

Take all this with a grain of salt…

but what could one conceivably expect to pay for insurance on a early 2000 f360? I know that’s an incredibly vague question, as it has a lot to do on the PERSON, but my Elise insurance was cheaper than my STi insurance. That’s the kind of information i’m looking for.

I know that no one here actually HAS a Ferrari, but does anyone have any useful information perhaps?

It would be the only car on the policy.

If you have to ask…

Just a thought…

Call your insurance company and ask?
This is ALMOST as bad as asking a medical question on here.

Well, i know it’s going to be expensive, but is it like a 12K a year kinda thing?

Or more like 6K?

I mean, i pay almost 4K now…

I guess i don’t mind wasting my time and nyspeeder’s time, but i don’t want to bug Diane like some sort of dreamer…

I saw this article after a brief search:
http://www.flickergaming.net/issues-concerning-insuring-a-ferrari.html

What the fuck?! Even when I didn’t have a license my insurance wasn’t that high and I had 30+ points at one point in time!

But you probably drove shitty cars.

For example, an experienced male driver with a clean driving record wishing to insure a $100,000 Ferrari with full coverage might expect an insurance premium in the $5,000 range.

hmm. i’d guess i’d probably be in the 5-7K range. based on that…

Well, I don’t know the date of the article and the article mentions that insurance on exotic vehicles can be highly customized to the individual owner.

i suppose at some point i should just call.

i wonder how much insurance rates vary by state.

Then again I looked into this last year when I was considering a similar purchase(only a 1998) It would have been from what I remember $2800 annually that was set at 5000 miles per year with the 100/300 and the lowest deduct possible.

pretty sure I used LeLand west for the quote.

It is an interesting question. I read through a couple Ferrari forums and found that a restricted mileage policy can be surprisingly cheap. Ex. <$500/year

Get a 20 year old Ferrari and pay $200(classic) a year.

I tried adding it to my Geico policy under the “I’m thinking about making changes and need a quote” section but Ferrari isn’t even an option in the dropdown.

this would be a daily driver. year round. not in buffalo.

i tried doing the same on geico/prog/allstate/esurance

all said i had to call.

well, there goes my suggestion.

This is what I decided to to, 2010 I’m buying a 348 which was my “dream car” when I was growing up.

Also spending $45k>120ish at this point in my life seems to make much more sense.
Only the quote was more around $750 per year.

you can get collector car insurance on the car if your over 25 and have a primary vehicle…

haggerty.com and grundy will do it with any year vehicle and no mileage restrictions…

its CHEAP 2

and its not an f360 … its a 360 modena…

Just get the F350 instead, its cheaper, bigger, tougher, and cheaper to insure. Plus if you get the diesel, black sooty smoke is pretty cool
