Just finished cleaning the New Daily

My girlfriend and I just spent 3 and a half hours cleaning my GTP. It was very dirty. I washed it. Then tried that liquid clay bar. It didnt do a bad job then i put on a fresh coat of Gold Class to set it off. I will say this, regular clay bar still is better because its alot easy to get bugs and dirt marks out but with some pressure the liquid clay bar will take most of it out. I do also have 1 picture of the formula which i only just washed yesterday. It was waxed 2 weeks ago and still has a nice shine.but let me no what u think.

nice looking cars. do you happen to live by maple crest?

ya thats edgemeade.thanks for the comment

Looks good. I’m with you though, regular claybar > liquid. Work on those foggy headlights next.

looks good

lookin good
i think if you hit it with a rotary buffer after the clay bar with some light compound (meguiars #80 speed glaze) then wax it’d shine even more. it would give it that wet look
but looks good none the less

Lol the 1 head light and 1 tail light take in water when it rains really hard…lol.i plan to get that fixed soon when i get a free second.i never really paid attention but were is a good place to find the regular clay bar??

i would but i have yet to be shown “safe” way to buff cause i see so many people screw it up im worried ill do the same so for now i dont buff.lol

A. You can find regular claybar at Pep Boys (Mothers or Meguiar’s). Doesn’t really matter the brand, they will do the same thing.

B. Afraid of a rotary? Get a Porter Cable DA polisher (Model 7424 oe 7336), and Edge Pads. Couldnt burn through if you wanted to, but improve the look.

so i guess its a slower rpm??and the edge pad is a safer pad??

It’s a slower RPM, and the pad doesn’t spin. The bolt it’s attatched to does. The Edge pads a just high quality.

looks good bro. what’s your plans for the headlights…taken them apart or just buyin new ones?

Looks good

I have the PC 7424 and love it, speed is adjustable, and like Zack said, you couldn’t burn thru if you tried. Very easy to use.

Nice job BTW!

The rotary is really easy and safe if you are careful. Unless you have very sharp pointed fenders (ex C3 vette) that you could burn through just by looking at them, you will be ok.Just take your time. I have both the PC dual action and a makita rotary. The rotary does a much better job, especially at bringing back an oxidized finish. They key to the rotary is to tap the lightly trigger like revving a car, then using little compound. A great site for learning info about the rotary is meguiars.com
They have excellent tech help and also great advice.

also, the meguiars headlight plastic restorer is tits on scratched CD’s as well as older headlights

thanks guys for all the imput.im gonna try and get one of those rotarys hopefully my next check.

It should be worth the money if you use it right.

here are a couple of pics after i finished buffing with meguiars #80 on the vette and trans am

the rotary can make a finish swirl free with a lil practice

looks really good
