I know fellas I’ve already talked about it with my brother in-law. It’ll get done eventually. This chassis isn’t going to see any salty roads so I’m not that concerned with it at the moment. My goal is to have the car running by next summer and finally enjoy the damned thing. I WILL get the under body done when the car gets painted sometime after it’s finished and running
I forgot to drop the transmission off yesterday because I got side tracked with this:
Still needs a 2nd coat

I also found out that the ball joints I ordered for the rear A-arms are too big. The shop won’t press them in as they are worried that the arm will crack. The hole is 41mm and the ball joint is 41.8 I ordered another set from Moog that should work. That’ll be here later today.
The finished piece
Also did all the parts for the differential bushings:
I dropped off the Moog ball joints today. I should have my LCAs later today!
The rear LCAs are officially finished. I just have to refresh some of these rusty bolts and I’m ready to reassemble the whole rear end. Just waiting on the gasket for the differential.
This is going to look awesome underneath once it’s all together
Should be a little easier on the eye
This fucking drift tax is getting ridiculous! I found the one and only supplier that sells these spindles…for $275 a pop! WTF?! Yea, I’ll pass. I decided to squeeze a few more miles out of mine.
Seriously though…$275 per spindle???
I just had a change of heart on the ES subframe bushings. I decided to go a bit harder with solid subframe bushing from ISIS. Ordered these today, hopefully they’ll be here in time for the weekend.
 for pc’ing! Looks good!
Thank you sir!
ISIS solid bushing are in! They literally took ~5 minutes to install! I placed them in a freezer while I went to get beer. By the time I got back they were nice and cold and pressed in with a few whacks of a plastic hammer. Getting the subframe back on the car was a different story. It was so damn tight around the 4 mounting bolts! Definitely didn’t go back in as easy as it did with the ES ones. Whatever, this bitch ain’t movin’!
Squeaky clean! keep the updates coming. Are you shooting to have this done for spring?
Hell yea! Hopefully it will hold for years to come. Shooting for spring/summer - which ever comes 1st. I have boxes and boxes of parts that still need to go in. lol
Going to be reinstalling the differential today. I got all new mounting bolts so, all the control arms are ready to go back on, including the knuckles. I’m just debating whether or not to retire the current half shafts to save myself a headache down the road.
Here’s a pic of the diff. I think it came out pretty good!
Not sure what to do with the dangling wire of the speed sensor. This VLSD came out of a ABS equipped 240 and mine is non-ABS. Maybe I’ll keep it if I decide to sell it down the road.
can you remove the sensor and plug it with a drain plug? from what I recall most of those holes are usually metric. I used a Dodge Omni 1.6 oil drain plug (same thread/pitch) to seal the old skip shift hole on my 6 speed during my swap. Bit of teflon tape and no issues.
Yea, removing it would be ideal. It’s just 1 bolt holding it in place. I think I’ll do that before installing it today, granted my dad has the tap for it. Worst case scenario is I wait a little longer.
It’s coming along very nice.
I’m glad you’re spending the time and putting in the effort to make sure everything is done well.
Thank you!!!
You’ll be getting a PM from me soon enough!
