I think I found the perfect pliers for the job: Motion Pro 08-0279 Master Cylinder Snap Ring Pliers. Up to 50mm reach.
Look good
Thanks bud. The electric oven I bought should be up and running today. If anyone needs something blasted/coated, please PM me and we’ll work something out!
i might be in contact with you… lol
Calipers came out great!
Great thread!
No prob. I owe you one
Thanks! So many people on Zilvia told me I’d never re-assemble them because of the difficulty involved. I proved them wrong!
Thank you sir!
My friend and I hooked up my oven in the garage yesterday. I’m officially ready to bake some bigger parts. I’m going to start with the rear suspension arms I bought some more powders as well: gloss black, full gloss clear and metallic silver and a high heat tape kit. I also completely disassembled my TB for a thorough cleaning. I’ll powder coat it too, just not sure what color yet.
Here’s the TB in pieces:
Small update:
Finally got the arms finished up. Holy crap, what a pain the balls this was. There is some fun to be had with installing polyurethane bushings, I suggest you try it! lol
I have those same HF pick tools. So handy.
Cool that you’re powdercoating your own stuff!
Hell yea man, I’ve used the crap outta those things. I’m loving the sand blaster too. Blast, clean, coat. Rinse and repeat. So easy
Finally, I got the call from the shop! My subframe is looking freshhhh
I’m in need of someone with a metal lathe. I need 2x bushing collars made out of 2.5" exhaust piping. I need someone to turn/form an outer 90* lip on one end of the pipe and an inner 90* lip on the opposite end. I’ll provide the materials and money for your time. Please PM me!!!
No one? Damn…
Anyone know of a good transmission shop in Cheektowaga/Buffalo area? I’d like to get all of my seals replaced. Please let me know! Thanks.
Time to update this slow ass thread:
Finished up the rear knuckles and finally coated the LCAs (they’re @ NAPA right now getting the new ball joints pressed in). I dropped off the rear sway bar at my bro in-law’s. He sprayed it dark gray metallic that I had left over from my Subaru job. I’m picking that up later today. Hoping to have the rear end finished up this week.
update: Sub-frame got installed last night. I need to drop one of my transmissions off at the shop to have all of the seals replaced.
I’m getting a bit carried away with the powder coating…
LoL awesome
Why don’t you POR or do something with the under body since your powder coating everything anyways?
I thought the same thing. I hate seeing so much great work put into a project, and then RUST!
