Yeah. We originally wanted to go to KW for the selection because we didn’t know what we wanted, and they offered a fancy “granite-like” edge that made the laminate look good.
Well we know what we want now and just ended up with a single 45* bevel on the edge.
KW’s only open till 5pm tonight. If things don’t change drastically I’m going there tomorrow night to have a heart to heart with the salesman, then doc20th will get a call.
same thing happend to me with a hot water tank… was told 3 days it took 3 weeks and still nothing … i called and dude said he could do nothing said give me the DM’s # … called him he also said he could do nothing then asked for higher then him … got some guy in ohio… and he gave me the best tank in stock ($899) marked it to 239 (his price) and a $100 gift card to lowes… waled in lowes 30 min latter they were or so nice… i think my pull was that i have droped about 12k there and i asked for his fax # and sent him all the info to prove it while i was on the phone with him … and he called me about 30 min after i left the store asking if everything went ok
Lady from Gary’s (company that’s making my countertop) called and scheduled for Friday. She said it might still take a couple of weeks after that. She said 5-6 weeks is more typical.
So either the salesman was jerking me off when he said 2-3 weeks or the lady at Gary’s is jerking me off now.
Still tempted to call it off because Kitchen World can eat a bag of dicks, but it might just make more hassle for me.
If you ever consider building a house, multiply this story x 1000.
The residential contracting world is terrible.
I am used to customers and vendors that do what they say they are going to do.
House builders are just BS artists that know how to swing a hammer.
KW told me their shop builds the countertop. Wrong. They contract out to ONE guy. This guy is behind. They postponed even taking measurements until Monday now. I’m done.
