Krazykid & SSmokinn Fishing trip. 4/24

overall, for getting out on round lake somewhat late (after 11) we had a killer day. Not because of quantity, but quality.

this was our first fish of the day. The weight scale wasnt working and we didnt measure him but he was prolly a good 27-30".

this was the 2nd northern I caught. 32-33" and around 8lbs. This guy has a pretty sick story. He game me one hell of a fight, and when I got him to the boat I saw he was barely hooked. Mike ran and grabed the net and I started to steer the fishes head towards the net. My HOOK came out, and luckily the fish darted into the net as mike scooped him. Without mike doing what he did, it would have just been a fish story.

next up. Mike caught a 5lb+ 22" large mouth. Right now its out of season for them, and they arent very active. Its rare to catch a fish this size, this time of year. This bass was HUGE.

Thats a monster Mike, I’m Jealous. Backside by the reeds?

I’m honestly hungry as fuck right now.

and i seriously sat here for like 20 minutes wondering how the fuck you guys went fishing in the future, then i realized it actually is the 24th already. :facepalm

The reeds are a great place for bass. Nice fish!

Nice work dudez!

great first day on the water, we haven’t been this early in years. water was still 48-50 degrees, bass just started to come shallow to pre spawn we think. the pike are up and should be spawning soon, has a few other hits, I lost another great bass on the other side of the lake but wrapped me up in brush and came off. with a little sun we think the bite would be a lot better, since the water is still very muddy from all the rain, the fish we caught we were just lucky to cast on and grab their attention. If the water cleans up or the sun comes out, we think the bite will pick up because they might hear/feel the bait and want to hunt it down.

the bass I got was a good little story too. Just as I am abut to cast he tells me about these sandy open spots in that area and how every time he fishes that bank he gets a decent bass, sure enough that cast I nail that bass! Talk about calling the shot!

Day 2 should come this week, as long as the suns out we are hunting for a big pike!

Deff some nice fish guys…I love fishing. As well

That is a big ol’ bass for up here! I caught one about that size in Florida, but I think it’s more common down there. Thing is a monster!

edit: What kind of a lure did you get that bass on?

Striper season is upon us…

same that I got the 2 pike on. A white 3/4 oz terminator spinner bait with a rubber worm trailing it.

Like this? http://jaxcattackle.com/images/mainpageq9z0ghjurtsdgih2349.gif

never fished for them. I did once a long time ago but locally around here it becomes a mob scene fishing for them and I cant stand fishing around other people.

nope lol

hold on I will find it. Its all I use. Terminator spinner baits. I buy them in lot loads of ebay because locally, they are $8.99 each and rarely any local stores even stock the ones I strictly use.

sorry, 3/8oz not 3/4oz.

I also have multiples of that one that I changed the blades up on. The one I caught the two pike on, I had a silver and gold blade. Mikes bass came off that exact lure with a rubber on it.

Ah cool, I’ve always had good luck with the green sparkly rubber worms and largemouths. But I really haven’t fished for them up here, only in Florida. I should try to get out a few times this year.
