Not going to give to many details other then it was the perfect afternoon for fishing. Lake was like glass and me and my buddy got out of work early. Decided to hit up my favorite lake…
Me and mike set a goal earlier this year to catch a 40"+ tiger muskie or northern pike…this fish, nearly got my my goal.
7ft of water, 74* water temps and the perfect killer lure I set up…
sadly, the fish broke through my net and ripped his back fins and fell into the boat. I wish he didnt get as beat up as he did but he will make it! What a gorgeous fish and what a RUSH! I couldnt stop smiling for a good 15 minutes after. This fish gave me one hell of a fight too. He would take quick blasts and literally burn my drag. I was watching my spool waiting for the line to snap…
I also got a nice release video of him…
we were the only boat out there! Had the whole lake to ourselves! We are going back out tomorrow morning at 5am to see what we can stir up. So far, this is my biggest fish this year. Sadly, my measuring tape only went to 36", and he was bigger then that so I dont 100% know the length on this guy but ma, he had to weigh atleast 11-12lbs.

Should have went with a one person canoe instead of the kayak but at the time no plans were made to use it for fishing, only paddling. :dunno

lol the middle hook was in it’s mouth but I removed it before the picture after realizing that I was in a 26" wide kayak and holding the bass might not be the best idea in the world.
you just pull them up to you and grab him in the mouth in the water next to the boat.
Yeah that’s how I got him out of the water, but i couldnt get the entire fish in the picture so I had to hold him out in front with the pole. beer

and tonight I caught the biggest bass I have ever seen in my life. 25" and over 8lb’s. I dont know his exact weight, because my scale went to 8lb’s and then broke. Alot of people bass fish their whole lives, and dont catch a fish like this.

Spinner or swimbait?
dude he hit my spinnerbait so hard, I thought for sure it was that 45" tiger! He hit it so hard, I lost grip on my rod. I have never felt a fish hit like that. It was amazing.
