Lazylaser's 97 talon

What are you using for the 2-stage and “no-lift shift?”

-TJ

It’s actually an adjustable part of dsmlink. Dsmlink is the logging/tuning tool that I use for my car. If you browse their site you’ll see that it allows me to adjust just about everything. Its like having a user friendly stand alone ecu.

.

I thought so, just hadn’t looked into it fully yet. I have a new ECU and DSM link for the Garrrrrrrrant.

my scm4431e would help you ; )

A better time tonight still on the 16g.

12.65 @ 111mph

2.0 60’

@ Pittsburgh raceway park

Tools, subs, and spare tire were all in the car, along with the windows down.

Congrats and Nice meeting you today. Car looked strong as heck.

Congrats. No longer in the 13’s!

Thanks guys!
And, No longer in the 13’s, your telling me… I was cheering inside my car when I got handed the time slip! People were laughing at me, because I was so excited.

I’m sure that’s not the first time somebody cheered for themselves at the timing booth!

Anyway, congrats, nice time!!

Congrats. :bigthumb:

WOOOT!

Well, I’ll be trying for 11’s again at PRP this year so, I’ll see some of you guys there in April. I’ll be a little lower and have all the bugs worked out.

Somehow this shit made its way onto my car.
New Koni yellows adjustable struts. and energy suspension master bushing kit.

And
Free front and rear tower braces, polly sway bar bushings, eibach pro kit lowering springs, ingalls front and rear camber kits, new OEM rear hub, and slightly used koni rear “yellows” adjustable struts.

Here is the last picture of her with the factory suspention, standing tall.

Can you say wheel gap.
Front

Rear

The wheel bearing is damn near impossible to remove.
This is how she sat, under the knife, while I took the bus and ride my bike.

Also randomly pictured my 63mm throttle body from throttlebodies.com

And a random shot of my MHI “real” evo 16g.

This little turbo has been good to me.
The suspension is done now, the good wheels and tires are back on making her stance everything I was looking for. (no more 4x4 truck)

A walk around video of the Talon.

Here is a log of the car while I was tuning for meth, 46+ lbs/min for a 16g, I think I hold a record or something.

A current shot of the engine bay, well the most recent as I now have a powder coated valve cover.

So right now I’m just collecting up the parts I will need to rebuild the turbo and the bottom end of the motor. So far I have wiseco pistons & scat rods.

I also have fidanza cam gears (so I can finally dial in the bc272’s) a topline water pump and oem timing side pulleys.

I also have a new tensioner sitting around here along with other parts.

I still need quite a few things.
• 6 bolt full gasket kit cometic, with new head gasket.
• Timing belt, (Oem preferred, no Kevlar )
• New Oem Hyundai oil pump, (No topline)
• Acl main and Acl rod bearings
• Machine work from dlk. –Cleaning, freeze plugs, bore/hone, balance
• Tdo5 rebuild kit

Once I get these things in or done, I should be good to go. (no money)

Things are coming together with the car, not fast enough because I really want to go to the track and travel around this summer. I want it done like… Now.

I long to be back at prp.

Had the Talon out the other night and got some quality photos taken courtesy of T70; his car “the bluemeanie” is also pictured:

The MHI evo 3 16g that I bought brand new has been good to me for the last year…But now it is time for a little more. I had a lot of fun pushing the 16g. And I will miss it.

This pte 50 trim is here now and going on before I head back to PRP

My gasket kit and timing belt are here, so add those to the parts list for the motor build.
I’m just a set of rod/mains and an oil pump away from having everything for the motor.

Until I pull the motor I’ll keep pushing the six bolt bottom end with the PTE

Hey lemme know when you want to bring the talon to the Dyno were right in monroeville u can come whenever

It’s going to be soon real soon, I’ll call you when I’m ready, or if its not ready. I;d like to stop by and see how your shop is comming along.

Looking pretty empty in here… Bye Bye 16g

Turbo on… going back together!

Up close and personal with the SCM50.

More complete…

All done. Love this photo…

2nd favorite…

Start up video. (Turbo was primed by pouring oil down the feed line before hand. Noise is power steering pump.)
