keep telling yourself that…
:roflpicard: not a chance
not leaving because my dad was diagnosed with cancer and my sister just had a baby, my first nephew (probably going to be my only nephew) My husband has a very nice permanent job here that hes not about to leave. and we just bought a house for dirt cheap and its really nice, I live in NT so the taxes are tolerable. Winter doesn’t bother me, its nice to have a day off in the middle of the winter when its gets really bad, better than earthquakes, tornadoes etc. Hockey is really big here and I love my sabres.
why I want to leave: jobs here in my field suck, the goth scene is all but gone. and I’m not the bread winner of the family, so I’ll stick around.
Wat?

goth scene :mamoru:
i basically have nothing if i were to move
only person that i know who lives out of state is in georgia, so i would move there if i moved anywhere so i could atleast have one friend lol
i’ve been to like 10 different states, and several of them multiple times… it all gets old after a while. You have to make due with what you have sometimes :meh:
that’s the spirit!!
My girlfriend and I made a real go at it to move out to the Phoenix, AZ area in 2009. We gave ourselves 1 solid year for one of us to get a real solid good paying job, and the other one would follow along, and work a crummy job at first.
We both have college degrees.
Lets just say we couldn’t do it in 2009. Its very challenging to get a job out of state if you aren’t already there. People don’t want you, unless you have amazing credentials or experience exactly like they want.
We are taking a break for about a year, while she finishes up her masters here, then make a go at it again.
Maybe, I’ll figure that out later!
Worse case, 45-65 jobless…go back to work at 65! hahaha I’d live very modestly…
be one of those 70 year olds workin at home depot lol
So besically we all got screwed cause our families settled in Buffalo and we don’t want to leave them.
Hey man you need a hammer? Because I have the hammer for you…
Hammer time ba na na na na na na.
That is the truth! Don’t do it to your children!!
I hate the bullshit weather here, its shity 5-7 days a week. I’m stuck here for now because i got a +40k a year job w/ full benefits with just a highschool education and its almost impossible to find that anywhere else.
Downside is that my family already bought a house in Phoenix az late last year (sister got a good job at a school there and my parents followed)and i was out there in march and it made me not want to come back here. Amazing weather and tons of shit to do all the time. sure it has its drawbacks ( shitty housing market, high heat)but its seems more appealing than NY. I just bought a house on my own in henrietta though so im going to stick it out for a while and see what happens.
When I graduated from RIT there were no options for me in buffalo. Had to move to cleveland (not much better) for anything remotely close to what I am looking for in my career path.
Big time… and its all for nothing. Buffalo fucked me up. Nerves went to shit.
I miss my friends and Toronto but Im really glad Im gone.
i peaced for school and career.
I’ve been all over the country. From a purely logical standpoint, there are WAY better places to live. Financially this state is fucked just like Cali. We suck off of the working to pay for the scum. What do I get for my taxes… roads and garbage service, oh and really expensive school that wastes money at every chance they get, then cries for more. Well actually every government in the state does that. Any state in the union will give you that, so I guess I personally don’t get shit for all of the money I pay.
If it wasn’t for family, this would be the last place I lived, but you can’t change where home is.
Yeah, that is the reason why A LOT of people don’t leave. My G/F had a very hard time leaving her mom. Her mother and her sister still both put a good guilt trip on her for leaving. That is the worst. You can’t let other people decide what you do.
You have to make you happy, before you make anyone else happy.
If you are sad you never get to see your parents faces, get them a web cam and download Skype. My family uses is A TON. My sister lives in Cali, I am in NC, and my parents in NY. Also my grandparents use it when they spend their winters in FL. It’s a great way to keep in touch. Seriously.
