Hello people, does anyone know if its acceptable to have your front license plate towards the side of your bumper? I was thinking of doing some duct work to get more flow into the intercooler but the plate sitting right in front blocking it is bugging me… I don’t know if it’ll actually make much of a difference in terms of air flow, but as of now I don’t really get too much trouble from popos (my luck? though I try not to do anything that stands out). I was wondering if relocating it towards the side causes any trouble with them… Also i looked it up and all it says is that it must be on the front of the car :S
The bumper I’m running had brackets for the plate to be on the USDM drivers side, but that’s where my sidemount is. I moved it to the passenger side and they haven’t given me any trouble for it. As long as it’s clearly visible to them its good. Don’t be dumb and bend it to hide the “ontario” sign and the “yours to discover” then you’re just asking for it. And also try and mount it on the most forward point of the bumper, and also try to make it face forward as much as you can
All ive ever been told is it has to be on the most forward part of the front bumper. Behind the windshield is a big no no
Theres no problem having your plate located on the left side of the bumper for sure… Mitsubishi EVO 9 and 10s have their license plates on the left side in Ontario from the factory.
Yes, its okay as long as there is one on the front bumper, visible in a rear view mirror and flat faced (no angle/tilt making it unreadable). Doesn’t matter whether its on driver or passanger side.
It truly is a shame we don’t have the same setup as USA, so much easier to just have one on the back.
Canada never had Evo IX or its predecessors but you are right about the Evo have it but they are on the driver side and lancers have it in middle.
Yeah forgot about the evo 9, weren’t originally for sale in Canada. They are however admissable for importing into Canada from the states and fully legal.
^dodge caravan had them offset to the corner on the second gen…
you just cannot “alter” license plate… I have gotten this ticket for folding a plate into a U-shape to wrap around the lower edge of the s13 chuki bumper…
nova scotia only has front plates…
whoops…nova scotia only has rear plates lol
^^^ thats messed…
Ah forgot all about those caravans
yes everything up to the evo 7 because of bumper law repremended to 5mph instead of 8mph… ftw! Wish I could get an evo IX in here but shit they cost so much before even trying to take it across border.
