Yes, I needed a gun once. I surely would have either been hurt badly or dead if I didn’t have it.
In short:
Three years ago, while living at the intersection of N. Euclid and Wellesley Ave, I was leaving for night class. It was about 6PM. Perfectly light outside. Cracked out looking black guy is trying to stick a big fucking knife in the keyhole of my then-girlfriend-now-wife’s car. I asked him what he was doing, he came at me with the knife and explained that he was going to kill me. As he got close, I informed him that I had a gun, began to draw, and he stopped.
Can give lots of other examples from other folks in my old neighborhood as well. Those who claim that you’re perfectly safe in the hood without a means of protecting yourself…sorry, but you’re full of shit. I know this from firsthand experience. Just because something hasn’t happened to you doesn’t mean it won’t or that everyone else is peachy too.

carrying a gun and never needing it…whats the problem with that? its just like having ur wallet with your or something. its there, you might not need it for now, but you’ll have it when the time arises.

I don’t understand why somone wouldn’t carry a gun. That kinda boggles my mind. I tend to think that people like that, are the same kind of people that back away to a safe distance and just watch if somone else gets jumped. They are the kind of people that believed the police in 3rd grade when they said you should never stand up for yourself. They are the kind of people that just sit in their seats when their plane is hi-jacked. Everyone thinks life is sooooo fucking precious. Used to be that people had a bit of pride. Used to be that if somone was gonna try something and you just ran like a bitch you had to kill your self to save your families face. (well at least in the Orient) Its the roll over and get fucked mentality that makes us soo easy to get rolled over and fucked.
I say fuck the police, I can handle my own business.(unless it gets really deap) Fuck criminals, and fuck anyone who’s opinion is that guns are bad.
There’s a certain responsibility that comes with carrying a pistol. Either you accept being a sheep, or you accept being the shepherd to the wolves. I choose to be the shepherd. And I understand that being the shepherd entails some responsibilities. One of which is never drawing down on a civilian that may not warrant drawing down upon. Carrying is a grave responsibility that one must weigh the consequences of their in-action versus the reprocussions of their actions. Simple vigilance dictates these places and times. Having a gun doesn’t mean you’re a bad person. It means, under the right circumstances, the difference between unjustified loss and wolves feeding at your carcass.
People are not inherently bad, neither are the firearms they employ in their bad actions. It’s bad people with bad intentions that result in the demonizing of the pistol…

In PA, permit to carry is permit to carry concealed. Same as FL FWIR.
in CT, all pistol permits are concealed carry permits.
are u going to have that gun on a plane…no…would i sit back if my plane got hijacked…no…when someone gets jumped that person is usaually by them self, but if i was tehre and i would jump in, and did jump in a couple of times, maybe some ppl dont feel that they need a gun to be secure or make them feel bigger, i feel pretty damn safe no matter where i go and were im workin at that i will never feel the need to carry all the time

Being big doesn’t mean shit either…kid from my old neighborhood was about 6’2" and solid muscle…was walking from his car to his apartment one night when he was approached by four men. He willingly gave up his car keys and wallet, but they beat him so severely just for fucking fun that he had to go into the ICU anyway.
The kid in question was pretty liberal and didn’t “believe” in carry a gun. Now he has lifelong physical issues.

My carry
I have had my permit since 03…Another MAJOR important thing is to KNOW how to use it. Not like the thugs who carry them then dont understand the first thing on how to handle or shoot a gun. I dont carry ALL the time. It seems some people think that if you carry you think you are some tough guy with it and want everyone to know. I always try to keep mine virtually invisable with a IWB holster. I would rather no one know I have a gun on me. I hope I never need it but its there if I do need it.
Also my AR-15 is my little home defense gun.
At the end of the day if it ever comes down to it as them or me. I will live another day.

I have a cheap Hi-Point 9mm. Couldnt carry that thing if I wanted to. Just doesnt feel comfortable.
Im in the market for another pistol to carry. Looking for something compact,light but still packs a punch.
Any suggestions?
anything but a hi point!!! lol… those are ginormous.
spingfields are nice and i like glocks… but it all depends on what you want to spend… CZ’s are nice and decent quality ( i have about 1000 rounds through mine and it never jammed ??? but i clean it everytime i shoot it) and are known to be ‘cheaper’ than other guns. taurus or whatever suck balls and i don’t like berettas… but some dudes live by them. S&W aren’t bad, but i only like their revolvers.
