limiter!

Have you used it on your S13? Does it eliminate the 4th & 5th rev limiters as well as the speed limiter (ECU) itself?

It sounds interesting, i’d be really curious to see how Greddy wires it or designs it to operate.

Asking price?

i would be interested in the price hopefully if it works good for me we can arrange something asap. . btw the stock new civics i owned one last night. and again that limiter stoped me at 185…

my stock ka topped out at around 180 today. it just died out i know the limiter stoped it but how do i make it not stop? and how much horsepower is a cobalt ss putting out.?

Get a rev limiter cut device. You can find them online.

Cobalt SS - 203whp on a dynojet.

auto ecu?

Greddy Speed Cut?

Auto ECU will work, I have one for a 91-94 KA24DE $50.00, only drawback is cruise control doesn’t work.

^that is true… hell I have one bumping around my place too… I need it gone as well

I have heard disconnecting the gear sensors works as well, I have never tried, 4th and 5th or something…

blitz ecu owns cobalt SS

I am curently running my KA24DE like this and it doesn’t work.

There is more to it than just disconnecting the tranny sensors.

First you have to disconnect two sensors from the tranny. One is the fourth gear sensor, the other is the fifth gear sensor. If you look at the transmission under the car there are 4 sensors (for s13, 3 for s14), the ones that need to be unplugged are the middle two (s13).

Second you have to cut the wire going to ecu pin 32. It should be a yellow wire with a green stripe. This is for s13.

That should be it and it should work for s13, I’m not sure if the pinouts are the same on the ecu for s14.

Anyone with more info care to help out regarding s14 ecu pinouts?

stock automatic ECU = no speed cut if its a standard car.

no cutting or unplugging you can still have your speedo.

Phil,
if you cut that wire, will the speedometer work? If it doesn’t, then the odometer won’t work either… and neither will the cruise control…

The signal goes to the speedo first, then to the ECU.

Harry… my car topped out at 150mph today!

I need nawwwwwwsssss

The signal goes to the speedo first, then to the ECU.[/quote]

That’s right.

The speedometer will still work, I’m not sure if it will affect cruise control, but I think it may disable it.

Or you can also use the auto ecu as bobby suggested. That will get rid of both the speed limiter and the rev limiter, it’s also plug and play fyi and should give better gas mileage (the gas mileage part may just be a myth though.)

Not sure about S13’s, but for S14, the rev limiter is NOT affected at all. I have personally found this out in gears 1-4 …5th is too I’m sure, but I have only hit 240km/h and was only at 6000 or so.

Apparently s13s had rev limiters, I’ve never had a problem with it either in my s14.

No, you are right Phil, an auto tranny is slipping most of it’s life, therefore not being a direct delivery of power.
Stadards are better on gas because they are a more direct powertrain.

my car is a standard. and it cut at 180km. i need a chip which would be the best one would u reccomend?

try an auto ECU dude im serious it works for speed cut. s13 auto ecu’s dont have a speed cut because the tranny doesnt let the car go over that speed. You can probably get one alot cheaper as well.
