easy

anyone know how much that would cost?

nvm… (must always read)

do a search on it, someone on the forum here has one in his 240 already.

there was a huge write up on ziptied.
engine tranny ecu ur looking at about 3000-5000. on ebay atleast

expensive but awesome

It’s a direct bolt in actually. All you need to do is modify the original engine mounts from a c6 corvette slightly and it will drop right in.

For the harness, it’s easier than doing a harness for an SR into a 240.

Someone on here, “ADAM” i think has an orange s13 with an LS in it.

Does a Ls7 engine fit too???

This doesn’t just bolt in and there are a few problem areas like you would need like a gto oil pan and have to cut some of your crossmember to clear the area where the sterring rack goes. You have to cut the tops of the engine mounts at the crossmember so the engine can clear the hood (you want the engine as low and far back as possible). You need to make a transmission mount and driveshaft. You need to bypass the VATS system to start the engine. Powersterring pump fittings need to be worked out. If your really interested in this set-up take a look on www.ls1tech.com in the hybrid section there are a few that go into detail on what needs to be done.

^ all above info is bullshit.

LS1 = Hardcore N/A Engine that will eat almost any turbo’d 240 to start off.

i wanna ls2 T___T

It’s the best swap one can do, but initial cost is high, but long term cost is low. Easy to add power later down the line with simple boltons.

You get what you pay for.

To list but a few benefits:

-Low center of gravity with pushrod
-All aluminum engine = as light as KA but two and a half the displacment and power.
-Awesome six speed transmission T56 much better than the pos ka/sr trannies or even z32 tranny.
-Can be made fully backwards and download depending on the amount of work you want to make it perfectly 50:50.
-Durable, consider the fact an engine designed for a heavy ass car in a lighter car = less strain/stress
-Good 30mpg: 1500rpm in 6th at 120km/hr.
-350whp~ right out of the box
-TONS of after market support and boltons give tons of power and dont cost as much as you’d think.

The big work is, sourcing one, transmission mounts, engine mounts and it takes 5 wires to fire one up…

the rule of the car world is “LS1 goes in EVERYTHING”

lol, this has been convered so many times in so many forums

nothing like the torque and sound of an american pushrod to make u soil yourself…(except maybe a vh45)

Keep in mind too that to do this on a budget you can use a 5.3L from a Silverado as well. A very very similar engine, but a lot less money.
