Buy mine! LOL
light.
Ive got an old school 350 swapped into an 81 foxbody with a powerglide.
I am pretty sure an LS1 belongs in everything.
A certain mustang guy on this forum is looking to put a GM 6 liter in his fox. I give him shit all the time. I hate seeing a GM motor in a ford
exactly what I was going for instant hate
why.
can race it in moms, asked already as a shop car.
tons of them on there & its a bolt in swap
The game plan right now is grab a roller this week hopefully…
I might try to see how fast I can go with the stock motor…then cam…then h/c…
Ive seen a few great idea . Light car good power to weight… I will suggest going turbo 400 or a 4l80 though.
I was going to go the 3spd route I was seeing with a low race weight under 3000lbs and and my HP goals if I could get away with the TH350 instead of the TH400
Since I have a hook up on an already built Th350
LSx swaps are not a fad,its just the replacement for old school SBC engines. Why spend $3000 on “mild” ford or chevy crate engines when you can buy a complete LS1 swap for the same cost or even cheaper? Even for the old school guys set in their ways they make a carb kit for the LSx.
TH350/400 whats the difference,in my experience they all need a rebuild after a few seasons
Welp I pretty much just got a TH350 time to find a motor
you can go with AJE for a bolt in affair. I used 4.6 kmember/mounts, its quite easy but you have to make your own trans crossmember. I am sure there are other companies making lsx swap k members now. th350 alot of times you can reuse your factory driveshaft from what I understand. Its like 6-7 wires if I remember to make a uncut ls harness stand alone. Stock pcms are ungodly powerful. Headers are not cheap but you can fab your own. If you are buying prebuilt headers, make sure you talk to the company and find out exactly what K member setup they use to guarantee good fitment. If you are going turbo well, not as complicated then. Truck manifolds flipped with the 4.6 member will be fucked. Either you will have to do some clearance work or remove the from swaybar mounts for proper fitment. I think I am going to look for some tigher stock manifolds or build logs. I am not real happy with my setup I made. I cut and welded vbands to the cast manifolds and I am afraid they will crack off with time.
lz, do you want a track only car or something streetable?
if you want a track only car hit me up, i sloshed some rusty metal primer on my car to keep it from rusting but its gonna need paint, inside and out.
on skinnies, with slicks. 8 point cage quick disconnect wheel ect. 1500$ comes with a spare posi 8.8 (has an 8.8 in it) rearend and a set of 4.10s
Volvo short manual steering rack, brake booster delete, aluminum dash, switches, battery relocation to trunk, fuel cell ect.
its all apart. this thing is gutttted and light. track only.
Yea I have been doing some research looks like I will grab the AJE cross member
As for the front sway bar that is going to be tossed
Still trying to figure out what people are using for fuel setups.
Its going to be a “street car”
I already found a roller thanks though
I have wanted a drag oriented street car for a while just needed to get a garage and other things in place first. I was debating the F-body route but an LS1 car is at least 4k and add on another 2-3k for a rear end right off the start. Fox body community in this area is huge and I have been watching forums for a while suspension/wheels/interior/body panels can all be had cheap. Other people have already mentioned this swap is pretty much bolt up and I shouldn’t get in over my head to at least make it drivable maybe go turbo or something down the line who knows.
I wanted something I could pick away it and pick up pieces relatively cheap don’t need a giant money pit when all is said and done I can have something I will enjoy for under 10k.
Hopefully I can document everything step by step
well if you want parts let me know. before i put this thing together im considering getting rid of it in pieces or as a whole.
Want the 8.8 with 4.10s
 Ls1 fox would be sweet. There is a section just for this on the Corral. You should be able to do 10’s on motor no problem.
Too much work you can buy a high mile C5 vette for around 10k.
