As for Pauls statements i get them completely, if i were to build a 302 to make 500hp, it would have to be revved high and have a good ammount of compression and a good size cam. Now if i were to take a 351 and poke it to 408 or 427ci i could make 500 hp with a small cam, much lower compression and would be shifting it at 6K. In the N/A world more ci makes more power more reliably.
