Major Clutch Issue?!?

Car: 1995 S14 (KA24)

Story: I stayed after work to bleed most of the old Clutch Fluid out and replace it with clean Fluid.

Initial Proplem: Peddle was sticking to floor and not coming back up.

Initial Fix: Gravity drip

Problem started to fis its self

Tried pumping and releasing more fluid = Total lose of any down or return pressure in the peddle!

Guess #1: Air in lines
answer: almost 100% sure of no air due to full resivour all the time!

Guess #2: Broken Master or Slave?!?
Any thoughts?

Any Suggestions about what may be going on!

Anyone with any similar Experience?!?

Thanks!

There’s a dampener box on the clutch line, it has its own bleeder screw, you either have to bleed it, or remove it.

It’s located on the frame rail, about a foot before the rubber line that goes to your slave.

I suggest you remove it and bend the hard line (being careful not to kink) that goes into the box coming from the master, to attach directly to the rubber line.

  1. Go to Napa
  2. Order a Clutch Slave for your car
  3. Come back next day and pick up slave from Napa
  4. Install slave
  5. Remove dampener.
  6. ???
  7. Profit

I just did my clutch and slave and dampener removal. I’ll be posting
tonnes of pics and a little writeup for all the n00bs of the world.

Not that i’m a Noob, right!

Spending money on a slave was not needed!

Fixed the problem, all i needed was time!

Thanks for the info

Adam

what was your problem?

did u just have to adjust nut/rod under the clutch pedal?

Nope, i was wrong about the air in the line! As stupid as it was when i was paying attention to the bleeder screw my buddy topped her up without telling me it had gone all the way down! Needless to say he confessed after we fixed it! Man was it a huge bubble of air!

Thanks all for your help!
