City streets are beat ass in the winter. Some never get plowed at all.
For sure. I used to live on North Euclid Avenue in Highland Park…the street would NEVER get plowed, literally, it wouldn’t ever be cleared by people. Eventually the snow would melt after a few weeks.
That’s why I think it’s pretty cool that the mayor actually seems to give a shit.
exactly so its not the mayors job to do it, his job is to get someone to do it. why dont we just elimnate Costa’s job to save money, we all know our city needs it, and then luke could run public works. .
i dont want the mayor to fail, if he fails as a city resident i suffer, thats why he needs to cut this stupid shit out and hit the real problems. jobs, taxes, crime. you should have better people running the public works if the work isn;t gettin done. the mayor shouldn’t have to waste his time on icy streets is my main point.
I don’t know if you watch the news at all or listen to radio news. But Tuesday and Wednesday thats all they talked about for two solid days. School buses were getting stuck, there were accidents eveywhere.
The news of course blows one little snowstorm completely out of proportion. Makes it look like Pittsburgh is a total hellhole and the mayor doesnt care. So I imagine Lukey was just trying to do some damage control.
I always thought there should be some police cruisers equipped with the proper equipment to salt and plow. They have to make rounds anyway, why not kill two birds with one stone.
I can’t believe anyone is mad at the mayor for trying to find an answer to residents’ complaints. He should find the answer on our time, that’s what we are paying him to do. /thread /cutty
bingo… the news totally blew it outta proportion, i live on one of the steeper street in pgh and it was fine. the storm hit during the morning rush…they were fucked no matter what. and what can be said for asses that dont know how to drive in the snow.
we… u live in the city now?
whats the percentage of this thread that live in the city?
right on the bloomfield/lawrenceville border… the street and alley way leading to my driveway were not touched at all this year, i was able to make it into my driveway for the first time yesterday since this snow hit…
The city is terrible with plowing and salting, he better keep driving around and I hope he was in an SUV.
The roads in Oakland were untouched and still today have some ice piled up on them.
Your welcome to come to Oakland and check it out, I’m parked on the ice up by Schenley Park by the pond and almost busted my butt getting out of my car this morning.
I agree, those throwing the BS flag should have gone to the southside slopes and looked at some of the streets over there, parking at my buddys house was fun last night.
Great its snowing like a bitch now, and i brought the goat today :(… hopefully glenshaw and then the city does its job by 3:45
what pond? if you mean the fountain by CMU… thats not even residnetial there. i’m sure the steet was plowed since its a well traveled atery unless you mean circuit dr through the back nine of the G.C…are they supposed to plow all the way to the curb? i know of no other pond except the panther hollow lake and no way you parked there… how bout being more careful instead of a retard who cant walk.
southside SLOPES… if the salt trucks didnt go down them there was probably a good reason like they couldn;t fit or they didnt wanna wipe out 20 cars.
