I’m curious on how much work it takes to do a motor swap, I’m no where close to being able to do that kind of stuff…the only thing I took off of a car was the front bumper of my mom’s legacy…she wasn’t too happy about that and of course taking wheels off of a car. I guess its a huge gap but for someone with my limited (or no) knowledge of the mechanical aspect of a car, it would be recommended if I did it professionally (how much would it run me and how long would it take?), get someone who has the tools and knowledge to help me, or worst comes to worst, attempt it myself.
Depends on into what. Tools make a big difference.
lets say putting an SR20 or CA18 into a 240sx.
Very easy, just follow the instructions on heavy throttle. Should take about 6-7 hours with ABS. Probably about 5 without.
6-7 hours if you rush it. Once my engine is out i want to clean everything really well and install a few suprises. I plan on 2-3 weeks total.
if you are doing a sr20 into a jdm s13 then it is pull out ca18 stiock in sr20 plug in harness BANG ur good to go! fire it up and u are good, but if u want it to be the best u will want to swap fuel pumps oh and u need the sr20 driveshaft its simple!
