My Build Thread LS1/FD Its Fast!

It is already cleaned up. Thanks.

You’re already done with it?? Ugh, I am still one the front harness on mine. Come up and help me, and I will feed you beer!

The issues that were in the engine harness are sorted yeah. But the chassis harness has yet to been started lol. I was out your way all last weekend I would have stopped over!

nice edit fggt

Anything for you sweet tits.

Holy crap. I think Brent (Brent_Strong) always hinted at the fact that Hinson sucked badly back when he was doing his ls1 fd swap. That harness is pretty good evidence, glad to see you guys are remedying all that garbage.

Hinson sucks. Nothing Brent said matters as I never bought this harness from Hinson. It came with the car and I knew hinson sucked then too. Car still ran 10.9s and now it is getting fixed. No big deal.

I hate the fact that you have done all this work in like a month and I have barely touched my motorcycle…fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu.

I actually just got more parts back. I am 2 wheel bearing, 4 caliper rebuilds, and 2 tie rods away from then being able to press all of my bushings back in and make it a roller again. I am leaving all of the body stuff off as of now though for a few reasons and its really nice not worrying about them.

go work on your car fggt. you got alotta work to do.

This is true. School come first though! Car work Sunday. Come help and bring gregs.

Sooooooooo sorry I didn’t get any in progress pics I was ummmm busy. Motor and trans installed. The subframe and everything look SO GOOD. Under the car looks mint as hell. My new bellhousing will be powdercoated and I want to make the trans look cleaner as well. As always I am taking pics at night with limited lighting so I did some with and without flash to show the colors.

Looks great, are you repainting the bay?

After I build the turbo kit…so I don’t hutrsies my nice new paint while I am fabbing.

Do you plan on replacing all the bushing in your suspension components that you had powdercoated? Just wondering if they hold up to heat or are most likely toasted in the process?

Did you have the heads painted or coated?

I already pressed out all of the delrin bushing set that I run. The remaining few are four pillow ball that I have replacement for and two big ones that are a solid rubber type bushing that I will keep in. All wheel bearings were replaced. Then new grease and rubber boots are installed as well. Calipers get rebuilt etc etc etc. That reminds me I did the hubs and did new wheel bearings and ARP extended studs as well as powdered the ds and forgot to post pics! wtf! lol
This pic shows kinda that all of the bushings are out.

I think you mean valve covers not heads. They are powder coated. All parts, and subframes are powdercoated. Paint just hasn’t worked out for me in the past.

Oh yeah I didnt look very closely at the pics, guess its just the covers. I was just wondering if powercoating heads would become a problem with coating getting places you dont want it, but I guess you can just mask off everything you dont want to get coating on/in.

LOL I am not sure I hadn’t thought about it. I know people powdercoat engine blocks fairly often though. I have seen a few transmissions done as well. I will be doing my bellhousing but that is it.

Nice! Looks great.

Mean these jams? Calipers are done, weren’t cool enough to handle before I had to go home.
