My Build Thread LS1/FD Its Fast!

put them in the glovebox lolol

You re the second person to say this. Hmmmm

I actually have considered taking them out of the bay. We shall see.

JD is doing great work in such a short amount of time!!!

when i go turbo, i know who is doing my kit

What size is the DP? 3 inch? The piping fabrication looks great.

It is hard to realize how big this stuff/turbo is in pics but that is a 4" DP. Out of the turbo is a 5" to 4" reducer.
Crossover from manifolds is 2.5"
Charge piping is 3"
Exhaust is 4"

Can’t wait to see this thing get busy.

Looks great Drew! Get the turbo housing Hydro-Dipped, that would be sick…

I hope im not a huge puss and keep it super low boost for long. That reminds me, I need a 2-step!

link? I dont even know what that is. I am a turbo newb.

A guy on the bullet does it… Pretty much a liquid screen process that can put baller graphics on your stuff… The guy can do it to pretty much anything and it’s all sick. You are missing out.

JUAT?!

Im not sure exactly at what HP levels where 3 inch exhaust piping starts to become a restriction, I think its 500+. I have 4 in on the supra and if I did it over again would of done 3.5 or even 3 specifically for ground clearance issues. Definitely looks like a tight fit with the 4in.

Hydrographics WTF?

I ran 4" last year as well,it is fine on this car. This setup will be capable of +1,000rwhp. I need the 4"

Is yours off the shelf or custom built? If your fabricator spends the tie on it I would think 4" would be easily made to not have clearance issues. Last year mine was never an issue at all.

^ I would definitely try to fit the largest dp possible. Even that 4" will be somewhat of a restriction. Best exhaust for a turbo is nothing at all…

And the hydrographics stuff is sweet. I am looking into starting a small home business doing the dipping process. It started out with firearms stuff, but is taking off in the car world. Do the pics I posted not show up?

Oh they show up. It is crazy!

Yeah I dont think we could do larger then 4" through the space but it is the smallest I would put on a turbo this size. Hell if I already had to use a 5" to 4" reducer I am positive this turbo would be unhappy if I went smaller then that.

Woah that stuff is sweet

Are you going 4" straight through with no muffler?

5in exhaust will not fit, att least not happily. And grounds clearance would be horrible with the after market subframe.

Hell yeah I am running a muffler. I want the thing so quiet I would dd this joint. That is the main reason I went turbo and stopped doing big cammed NA+spray setups. I can not wait for the drivability and power this combo will make. I am running a magnaflow muffler and will add bullet mufflers inline if I want it quieter.

4" is more then fine I would say. Worst case we can crank dat boost or spray it or something.

+1 for quiet exhaust.

-100 man points for no hairy exhaust lol

With BOV and Wastegate this thing is going to be super loud already. No hate though. I couldn’t imagine driving a car with a straight-pipe 4" exhaust lol.
