nice, i kinda pissed the mach is gone, but now i can bring big nasty up this year lol, it does wayy better burnouts
yea that shoudl be fun.
sounds good dave. ;D
wait till you see the finished paint, youll shit yer knickers
oh and you should totally paint your wheels look.
:+1 for painting the wheels…looks sweet, even if u don’t do black do like bronze or somethin…bronze spokes, polished lip
+2 for painting the wheels black, they’ll look sick :nod
paint em +3.5
yeah my wheels are pretty beat, and it’ll show less dust.
i’m convinced. now just need some non-bald rubber… :confused
bring ur shit on over well paint them bitches.
need new tires mounted and balanced before i do. :
wouldn’t u wanna paint em first??? that way there is no chance of getting paint on the new tires…i mean if they mount the tires right it should do n e thing to the paint…just a thought
the tire shop that the p.o. brought the wheels to used shitty wheel weights on there, not the stick on kind you should have used. i’d be painting over them, and they look like ass. hopefully i can scrounge up the dough to get some soon.
aight i got ya…
small update:
noticed a slight “weeping” from my radiator. the quick-tie holding my electric fan on was installed too loose by the p.o., and it chafed a small hole. :wtf
so out with the mk3 radiator, and in with a spare i had laying around. it was from a 16v b3 passat.
only issues were the water necks/ thermoswitch were on the opposite sides that i needed them to be.
RESULT: flipped radiator upside down, necks were now on the proper side, and extended the wires to the thermoswitch to reach. electric fan reinstalled, fits, and works great. :nod
the b3 radiator has a slightly shorter, but longer core. it actually fit better than the mk3 one. i didn’t even fabricate any brackets, but will eventually. it rests fairly snugly against the front subframe, and the top hose slightly touches the battery. i’m sure if i loosened the batt. hold down, and slid it a 1/8" it would be perfect. i plan on relocating the batt. to the trunk anyway.
-i also fitted my grille spoiler, and realigned the rad. support/ grille. looks fantastic. :ninja will get more pics soon.
NEXT ON THE LIST:
new front rubber, software, and or headers ;D
:thumb This makes me want an MKII something fierce.
thanks ;D
get one! there are a ton of them out there, and they are one of the easiest cars to work on.
scott jackson is selling his for only $1,500, and its really clean. if i had the extra $ now, i’d buy it just for the winter.
they are fun. :nod
another update:
picked up a set of mk4 16" vr6 wheels. thanks brett, your the shit dude! :nod
just need rubber, and will mount and take pics. ;D
update:
tires come monday, and i am having them mounted/ balanced early this week, along with a fresh alignment. i went “affordable” on the tires and grabbed a set of falken ziex512. size is 205/45/16. had them on my passat and they were great for the $. also grabbed 4 camber bolts from my friends at adirondack.
will be taking pics this week! ;D
