Most of the people with a good enough setups to do 10’s are not hardcore drag racers. Its obviously hard on tires, clutches and axles so a lot of guys don’t bother. There is at least twice as many “fast” cars then most people on the forums know about. A few have been sold or parted out when the owners were done having their fun with them. Some are daily driven. Eric’s broke a valve and thats the only one thats had a mechanical problem…or failure I should say.

my car is a full street car 2600lb, full interior , seat(s),lights, and registration. You don’t know what you are talking about like 90% of the people here that think they can run 10’s. SOHC is gutted has wheelie bars, the car ran Q16 beacaue it can’t pass for the street class SFWD that i run. I know , becasue im friend with the SOHC civic. Where are thoes 10s street cars now?

ryan has had a car that ran consistant high 11’s with 300-325whp. the setup was more than capable of making 500whp and putting the car into the 10’s. matt said the car was capable of 10’s nothing more, which i think everyone will agree on. i’m not sure why you have to pick that apart. it is the same as you saying you dont want to take your 140mph+ capable trap speed on the street, which has yet to trap 140mph.

actually if you know how that track recording system works, its takes an average of your speed. I looked at my aem logs and i was over 140 and im not making 600hp to do it. Anyways 140-139-138 mph is no place for a road like the ext.

Did it ever cross your mind that you crossed the beam at 135 but you didnt let off the gas until passed the beam? not to mention knowing the exact size of the tire at the end of the track is almost impossible.
