My S2000 Build thread 56k beware

Saw your car parked in front of Baileys in saratoga today. Looks just as clean as my parents garaged, never seen rain, under 30k miles S2K. Love the cage.

pics?

Just saw it as well on my way to the OBI. Awesome job on the cage.

I yelled to you on South Broadway near Mobil. Saw you give me the WTF look too LOL.

I saw you, figured you were on here

Nice work on the V1 mount and the car definetly looks much better minus the fart can.

Also got a bunch of parts in today and the tail end of last week. Still need to put most of them on:
PWJDW valve cover washers and vtec cover in black
F20c valve cover for powder coating gloss black
kevlar spark plug cover off ebay which didn’t fit and is getting returned lol (that’s what i get for taking a ebay gamble)
AP2 center console
Hood dampers
Sparco evo seat

Granted its a good place for it from a “performance” point…

but why in the hell would you mount your V1 there?

I didn’t want it suction cupped to the windshield for someone to steal it. I have the remote display in the driver side windshield for me to see the warnings

meh, location and fabwork is nice, i just wouldnt have placed it there. i would have just suctioned it up above the mirror and place the remote display elsewhere. but it is your car, and its coming along nicely!

So after smoking my clutch the other day and reading a lot and talking to a lot of people i went ahead and ordered everything for replacement/upgrade. I want to go FI in the very near future anyways so replacing the clutch was going to happen relatively soon anyways. Oh yeah, i smoked my clutch the other day. Nothing crazy, just getting on the onramp to the northway, clutch slipped bad and hasn’t grabbed since. Top speed of the car is about 20-30 right now lol.

My new clutch setup will be:
OEM Disk
OEM throwout bearing
OEM pilot bearing
ACT Prolite lightweight flywheel 8.3lb (total loss of 6.1lb from AP1 flywheel)
ACT HD Pressure plate

ACT Parts on order, all oem is already in. I will be installing this when i get back form vacation the week of May 6th.

Why oem? Get a ACT disc

Act disks have bad reviews, the oem disk and act pp seems to be the best setup and good for 370 tq

Hmm weird, Ive only ran ACT kits and never had any issues.

That OEM disk is not gonna enjoy it’s life when you go FI

Yeah I said the same thing when I bought my new oem clutch, which people say is good for 350-400lb/ft.

Of gentle driving.

Even at 220lb/ft my clutch hates what I do to it to the point where it’s nearing the end of it’s life only 10-15k from brand new.

They guys at synapse seemed to think this was the way to go, along with the reviews on s2ki. I’m confident with it

Good luck with the clutch swap. Heard it’s better to drop the whole subframe. More time but less headaches in the end.

I had act disk pressure plate and flywheel in my prelude and it loved betting beat 345whp 260tq.

I perdict you will be doing the same swap again at somepoint, except with an aftermarket disk
