Finished up the other 3 rocker boxes. Waiting on new studs to install them.
it’s a shame you painted the frame. love the look of raw stainless.
The frame is mild steel, I could have made the hardtail portion stainless, but the rest would be mild and would need paint.
Also there is no reason for a motorcycle frame to ever be any color but black.
… says the dude that painted everything on his e30 rainbow colors. lol
Looks awesome. I cannot wait to see it done!
Just the parts you can’t see.
I’m a big fan on the black chrome cougarspeed uses on everything.
Looks more grey/gun metal
That would be fine for other parts, but in my (personal) opinion, bike frames should always be gloss black. It’s kind of like how tires should always be black and tint should always be grey/black. Sure, you can get it other colors, but it never really looks good.
There are rare exceptions to the rule when you have some crazy blended tank/frame thing, but for a standard frame… black.
I totally agree with ya there. Some things are just meant to be one color.
Installed some parts (hopefully) permanently.
First I satin/polished up the triple trees:
Then bolted them up to the frame with a new sealed bearing kit…
I’m a little skeptical about that brass piece. Might remake it, but more important things at the moment…
I was, to be honest, more excited to see the CB than the shovelhead.
I want both, though!
Nice work so far, for sure.
Whats the plan to keep the trees etc looking like that after a billion hours of sanding? Clear, hope, sealant/wax…?
Dan
I’m not going to clear them. Maybe some wax. But if it patinas a bit that’ll be ok, too.
Will we be able to see this bike in person somewhere, sometime soon?
Well, I need to have it finished by 9/13, but then 3 days later I am going to Malaysia for a month.
Malaysia, what for?
lol.
I would not do anything in Malaysia that may cause me to need medical attention. lol
hahahaha.
LOL. Doesn’t skydiving either go well or medical attention shall not be needed?
