Good point… Why bother with a helmet, right? Lol
Ya need something to mount the Go Pro cam to…that’s the only use for a helmet I suspect.
To kill the prime minister?
i see what you did there lol
Got the new Jim’s rockers installed with new shafts. Took significantly longer than expected, because I actually had to machine the end of the rocker arm .010 in order to have appropriate thrust clearance (Before machining there was an interference between the shaft ends and the rocker). Surprising.
Studs should be here today so hopefully I can get these babies onto the motor.
how did you take that .010 off?
Bridgeport
2 back to back 10 hour days (after working 8-5) and I have some progress.
The first thing that I did was clean up the rotor adapter that I made (from a blank that WWWJ cut for me) and install it permanently with loctite and the appropriate stainless hardware. Kind of a before/after:
And then got to work on assembling more of the motor. Had to make some tappet alignment tools:
And then some shots of the motor with a lot of stuff installed. Still need to set the base timing with the magneto and install the oil seal and alternator bits on the drive side. Also need to plumb the head oil return lines.
For reference, before:
Here’s a closer shot of the split rockers:
And a shot of how I rerouted the center oil line. It’s sort of hard to tell from the picture but the majority of the bend in the hose is towards the other side of the motor. It will be mostly behind the carb, which gives me more room for my throttle cable:
Looks awesome
That motor looks fantastic!
i want to ride this thing so bad
Got my fork tubes back from being anodized to match the hubs and all the burnt stainless color on the bike. Also trimmed the superfluous mounts and tabs off the bottom, repainted them, replaced the fork seals and rebuilt one of the cartridges and replaced the oil with redline.
Here’s a before and after comparison. (note original length)
And a shot of them on the bike.
Also cleaned up the caliper bracket and installed new brown anodized “spots”. I have about 40 hours in metal polishing alone on this bike:
Running the external oil drains tonight and hopefully putting the newer headlight design on tonight.
Outside of the black plastic one? Did I miss something?
I was thinking the same thing. Was there another “version” I might’ve missed in this thread?
Just a very very slightly different design but made of ABS vs polyjet material.
This bike has been a remarkable amount fo work.
So I was installing external oil drains last night. I actually had to make a -4 male x -06 swivel elbow, but even with that installed, I didn’t like the way it looked. It stuck out too far and just looked “industrial” in a bad way.
Here’s how it looked:
Part of the problem was that I installed -06 fittings into the case. I couldn’t change these after the case was assembled either because they’re ground flush to the inside of the case. But a solution was to be had. I made these fittings (out of a wasteful solid chunk).
And here they are installed with the old fittings for comparison:
And with new lines made:
I also assembled the new abs headlight. It’s about half the weight of the polyjet one and much stiffer. I’ll post pictures of that soon.

No shouldered lock washers behind the bolts for the rotor to the hub?
