No, just red loctite.
your progress is great Christian, hit me up for some lunch brotha. been a while.
Thanks JD.
Got the wheels on last night.
Have an aesthetics opinion question, I can’t decide.
Should this stator cover
remain polished or should I anodize it black?
At a glance it looked like that black bucket was park of the bike, lol.
How much is remaining chrome? Will it look out of place or give a nice accent?
Black
My opinion, black; balance out the raw aluminum, and match the heatsinks on the jugs.
Black
Yeah but somethings you will want to remove and the lock washers provide that insurance. If anything I would use blue loctite if you were worried about it. Blue loctite for everything else connected to the engine and directly to the chassis. Red is asking for trouble down the road when it is fully cured. Especially with stainless bolts as they are the weakest of bolts and chances of shearing a head when removing are high.
I’d say black on the stator cover…if there’s time anyways
Well I somehow wound up with two of the stator covers, so I suppose I’ll do one black. I get anodizing done for free anyway.
Don, can’t put a lockwasher on the bolts anyway, as they mount to threaded holes, not a through hole. BUT, I actually did put BLUE on. I wasn’t thinking when I replied late last night. The red is used very sparingly.
This thing is coming along nicely Newman. It’s gonna feel so good to ride it once you’re done.

Safety wire looks pretty bad ass and is easy to do…
I used red loctite wayyy to much on my bike. Im fucked.
those forks look like they’re missing something… perhaps a caliper mount or something. [SIZE=“6”]

I agree about safety wire being awesome for several reasons. Maybe once I get it shaken out a bit.
Also I dropped off the cover at the anodizer and I’ll have it back by 5.
Lol. That’s the rear caliper. This thing has no room for a caliper on the fork.
oh. haha. rolling no inspection I presume? or finding a way to reg as pre-71? or just getting a lick-n-stick?
