I think I made up my mind what direction I want to go for adding power.
I want to go N20 for the following reason:
Price
If for some reason I want to sell my car I can remove the N20 easily, and sell that separately.
I don’t have to have that added power unless I need it, AKA with a cam that’s always there.
Same gas mileage when unless I’m spraying.
Car info:
1998 Pontiac Firebird Formula
Ls1(Stock MAF, TB, Intake and 28lb injectors)
M6(3.73’s on a stock 10 bolt)
Pace setter LT’s with ORY and borla catback
I intend on DD’ing this car all summer and tracking it a few times, so I figured I might as well start with spray, since It allows me to do both.
However, I know absolutely nothing about spray. I’ve never used it before, so I have a few questions.
Wet or dry? I know a lot of you guys use the plate system which I believe is a wet shot.(Please correct me if I’m wrong)
What supporting mod(s) will I need?
Besides the kit, I was wondering what else you guys added to you cars to make it safe and reliable system to add power?(AKA window switch, pressure regulation/monitors, new spark plugs)
Any other tips would be greatly appreciated!
I plan on going through J&J speed shop, to get this.
I would go wet
You probably don’t need much for supporting mods. Maybe an LS6 intake would be good.
I’d want an arming switch, window switch and be able to monitor bottle pressure at the very least.
I’d def go with a window switch and fuel pressure safety switch for a wet kit. NX makes a great kit and if you want to run a plate you can buy the kit for sale above and just add a plate I believe.
Ok guys don’t turn this into a shop debate please. If he is looking for feedback on shops he can say so.
I ran a cam only setup+spray for about 5 years and never once had any parts give out and i daily drove the vehicle for almost all of the years as well. I ended up running a 10.56 @ 134 or 136? cant remember before I sold it. Anyhow here is what I used for the power adder.
NX single efi kit(like FS above)
Bottle heater
Bottle pressure gauge
Window switch (3,600-6,800)
NGK TR6 plugs
255 pump(smoking deal from Inn-Tune)
WOT switch
TUNE!
I think thats about it…I was on a 200 shot. Prob sprayed maybe 40 bottles.
Do you mind listing your complete mod list in addition to what was stated above? That is VERY impressive (i believe you were on a stock motor?, if so miles?) I was debating on jetting up to a 150 this year for a couple people/for a 10 sec time slip, but i am a bit nervous, although my motor is healthy at 58k miles. Also, what were you able to run on motor?
Give me a sec to try to find my old FS thread on LS1tech it had everything listed. This car was going to go 9’s I did the 10.56 on 27"QTP’s and for the next season I had 28"slicks and fully adj suspension but never made it out before I sold it. On motor I went 11.7 on the nitrous tune/colder plugs/nitrous great and tire size. I could never get it out of the hole the way I wanted to NA. Debating 150?lol I debated 250 and still did it.

I did not have the 10.56 listed as I could not find the slip and didn’t want to not be able to back up the claim. I still have the 10.70 on my wall
