It seems like Cobb is the easiest option, but I haven’t been following the N54 scene since I got rid of mine. I had a JB3 way back when and it was alright, a lot has changed since then though. I’m sure Jeller, Xander, and a few others can guide you in the right direction. I believe both of them are/were using Procede.
Got the car back today, Shakes like mad after starting. I sent it on a flatbed right back to bmw, im assuming the HPFP went again, or perhaps its injectors. Regardless, I’m still in my loaner and I’ll probably be ordering JB4g5 tonight.
LOL that sucks. I had the injectors stick open on me once, man did it run rough to say the least. If its injectors I think you will be getting the new part number, in that case all six are needed to be replaced as you cannot mix the new and old ones together. Supposedly the new ones they “claim” its a better internal fitering and the thermo compenstating oil… and I think they are like a $100 more now too.
As for the tune, JB is probably best bang for your buck.
Tell me about BMW quality all you BMW nut sack riders. Tell me how awesome they are, tell me how they are worth the money, tell me they are reliable. I’m going to go drive my Japanese car, not jerk off over how awesome it is while it’s broken down talking about flashes and other such fggtry. But hey, this will be the last time it breaks down… Hold your breath just to be sure
When you get your honda to have over 400-450 whp/wtq let me know how reliable it is… until then quit comparing apples and oranges, my brothers 330i was very reliable and that in line 6 cyl engine was very smooth with good torque, something your honda knows nothing about.
I’m comparing stock vs stock reliability, I seem to recall Willybean’s car was “currently bone stock.” I’ll take my torque less CRV/Element/Rav-4/Corolla anyday over a flat bed ornament that is a 335i. I want a car to drive, not one to stroke my cock over on an internet board discussing the many short comings while still insisting it is the second coming of christ.
Still apples and oranges Mr. Krant. And I never once acted like that, you have me confused with those VW 1.8t guys. And you should really refrain your comments on a car that you have never driven either Mr. Krant, couple weeks and I will get my POS back out of the garage for ya to take for the day. Don’t worry I will be sure you have my AAA and BMW roadside assit just in case
I appreciate the offer but I’ll stick with my Japanese cars. I’ve got too much work to do on the German cars I’m getting ready to sell to be driving one too.
I would keep the car stock until no warranty, with the 335 it’s not “if” it will break, it’s when
Jeller I’m on the opposite end of the spectrum as you, nothing but issues and if you check out n54 it’s a forum filled with issues instead of a forum filled with how to modify for performance like most other performance oriented sites
BMW are great when leased but honestly too many fueling issues (as well as other stupid problems a 50000 car shouldn’t have)
And there really isn’t a comparable car that’s Japanese except the g37 and they are rock solid and make great power with a turbo kit
I would rather it be modded under warranty, and have cool guys at the dealer look the other way I think I may have owned mine the longest so far out of the people I know locally that have them/still have them so you dont have to tell me anything about problems, I know them all and a member of all the current boards.
I too contemplate if I should keep the car any longer, the turbo kit options that are coming out make it kind of appealing to keep in a way, but require consideralbe investment in addition to the kits themselves to make driveline better.
Never been a huge G37 fan, coupes are okay, but the sedans were not appealing at all to me.

If CTS-V wagon pricing would fall just a bit more, that may be a my thoughts also.
You mean like an LSx engine? Where 400whp is a cam away? And dead nuts reliable? And not dealing with meth? Stop with that nonsense you speak and realize how amazing an N54 is.
A 335i owner telling another 335i owner how unreliable his car is? I think the last thing you said, “Stupid problems a $50k car shouldn’t have” is why I can’t believe how many 335i nutswingers there are. If these problems were occuring on a Hyundai, everyone would say what crap they are, their made like shit, they’re cheap cars. But, on a BMW, it’s just something you deal with?
