I dont know how to di that, but i pressume ill be taking parts out of my engine bay to get to the ecu box again, eh?
Did you get the USB cable? if you did you can run it through the ECU box into the glove box. You plug in your laptop and open the JB4 software and do logs of the engine. If you didnt get the cable order one, terry does updates all the time.
I do have the cable.didnt run it though.doh
That’s why Cobb is great, FYI I couldn’t get rid of that code no matter what I did
How so? is ita code clearing function better?
Im not aure this code qasnt present before the tune. Its still there on the stock map
cobb is just plug and play, very user friendly, no digging in the engine bay (ya ya it only takes 20 mins but still)
and that with that code just hope its the sensor (very easy to replace and under $100)
Terry saysits a low pressure fuel sensor, based on the log I sent him
How u liking the JB4?
I bought one but returned it and got a Cobb.
When I asked Burger how the car auto-tuned for E85 mixes without a flex fuel sensor, they basically said to beat on the car for a while so it’ll trigger knock. I was like uhhhh… :tif:
I’d do that maybe once. But then if you switch from that map back to map 0, then go back to map 5 or whatever it is, u have to beat on it AGAIN… I was not down with that. It’s nice to be able to switch everything from the steering wheel tho…
DrDos has a JB4 and been treating his 335i like a 5.0 drag car it hasn’t blown up yet…maybe this year?
I love it, but I doubt I’ll be running e85 much, nor do I plan on adding any other mods. I’m going to drive it as is and get something else when I get bored of this. Time will tellm
I have the procede rev3 with the flex fuel sensor kit on it. Running 100% E85 currently with an in tank walboro 455 pump, needs a little fine tuning yet and I hope to get some dyno numbers soon. Being able to see your ethanol content is very nice to know.
Ah nice. I’m too scared to blow up my pump so I just sneak in 1.5 gal of 100 octane when I feel like beating on the car haha. Flexfuel sensor ftw…these people running E40 mixes on JB are crazy IMO.
The tuning resources for these vehicles are very impressive
Still on my stock hpfp (we will see for how long… ) its warrantied for like 10 years or a 120K or something like that, so not too worried if it goes really. I have a back up stock LPFP around too if I need one quick. I dont understand how these guys are calling “e40/e60/etc…” mixes. They are probably soo far off in terms of accuracy on the ethanol percentage alone… Its spring time here so we are only getting about 70% actual ethanol rating on the sesnor and will not see anything in the mid to upper 80’s until mid/late summer for only about 2 months. Then they mock the procede kit as being dumb and overpriced when the sensor alone is the majority of the cost. I like the accuracy of it and dont mind paying for the convience of being able to dump in whatever fuel and not sweating it.
Ive only had one issue running a 50/50 e85 93 mix. Sent a log in to terry and we changed a few settings and it was good after that. Cant wait to put some in this year, to bad the clutch is slipping already
I wish vishnu had terrys level of customer service, hell I wish it was even half as good, that would be a major improvement for them. If I didnt already have a brand new procede already I would probably get a cobb as it seems like the Pro EFI stand alone is going to realllllllllllly expensive when/if it ever does come out.
haha, lotta ppl have success with the JB4. For me personally, I don’t trust my motor to a piggy back, especially one that has me beat on the car till it knocks to “auto tune”
Ricers man. They exist everywhere. Just cuz they have money doesn’t mean they are any smarter. I’m with u there, if I was gonna run E85 mixes I’d want flexfuel input for sure.
Burger’s customer service seems great, but yeah, I’d much rather just make adjustments myself with access tuner.
Did u see that post on e90 about how Shiv flew in or something and helped tuned some dude’s car haha? Shiv Spotted On The East Coast!!!
Well, I hate to join this thread, but my 335 started to hesitate when giving it some throttle and hitting boost. It then threw a CEL, so I brought it in last month and it’s been back twice so far this month, with a 3rd visit coming soon.
They initially just replaced the low pressure fuel sensor, which got rid of the CEL. Sadly, the hesitating didn’t go away, so I brought it back. On my second visit, they replaced all of the injectors and the HPFP (3rd time) and it STILL isn’t right. It feels like it’s running smoother, but at that 3k-4k mark, it still hesitates and is jerky. I had asked them about the weird rattling that I’m pretty sure is the wastegates, after reading this post and watching some youtube videos of wastegate rattle. My car definitely has that noise, but they’ve been telling me it’s the injectors.
Now that they’ve replaced the injectors and the sound is still there… I just called them again and left a VM. Bummer… I don’t like that my car needs to be taken apart this much just to fix my strange power issues when my car hits boost.
I feel like it could be the computer hiccuping when the turbos start to spool at 3k. Or, the turbos/wastegate could be leaking and delivering incorrect power, causing it to hesitate. Hopefully they find out what’s wrong with it soon.
Goff, if you’ve been working lately, I bet you’ve seen my car… it’s a red '08 335xi sedan with 18" wheels. You should be seeing it again soon… perhaps you can take a look?
Good luck with it!! So glad I walked away from that nightmare
Im getting all the tools together and will be doing cheap walnut blasting if anyone is interested!
