Mine are boring, just both my vans at races, and my A4 on the way back from Florida 9 years ago. The vans are nice, air mattress fits perfectly. '97 Voyager, '02 Odyssey, '98 A4.

I used to sleep in the 240sx every weekend when I went to visit the gf at the time, her dad eventually got sick of me sleeping in his living room, but it was an hour drive home so I drove 5 minutes to a parking area. (didnt feel like driving an hour just to wake up and drive an hour back)
I used a blanket to cover the whole car from the outside to keep the sun out. definitely had cops stop a few times to see whats going on. plus I cracked the windows to let the heat out, but bugs got in, so the blanket helped with that too.
1991 eagle talon- to room to do anything it.
1993 civic hatch- attepted to sex, was watched by everyone camping, then attemted to laydown, the worst night of my life.
1996 buick lesabre- more comfy then my bed.
lol great thread
I am weird, and I honstly think I haven’t owned a car until I have slept in it. needless to say I have slept in all of my cars except for the integra, and thecackord I curently own.
the last, and most memeorable sleeping in car experence was when I was fighting with my gf. I left work, went to the bar across the street, and got hammered drunk. I then proceded to call my gf, tell her I’m sleeping in my car, and then I went with some dude (mind you, still in my scrubby pizza boy clothes) to a house party. I then walked back to another bar and drank even more. I may or may not have called my gf again at this point
so 4 am rolls around, I walk back to my car still in the delivery guy spot at work, pop the hatch (91 gti w/ no back seat) turn on some music and pass out in the fetal postition in the hatch.
I woke up the next morning to my boss tapping on the window ad screaming “are you fucking SERIOUS?!” at me
another time I was at a house party in my old jetta, I passed out in it with my feet hanging out of the drivers side door. my friends, being the good people that they are, put me in all the way, and closed the windows and sunroof.
the house I was parked at was like a weird house/church kind of thing. the guy that lived there was a caretaker for the church that his house was attatched to. so 11 am rolls around, its august, I woke up in a black car, with black leather seats with all of the windows rolled up. I woke up to this sudden inferno and started coughing and gagging, ripping my shirt off. the keys were in the ignition so I popped all of the windows and sunroof open.
I felt like I was going to die and was making a bunch of noise strugling for air and ripping my shirt off. it was at this point that I realized I had parked next to a playground the night before, a playground which had 20-something kids and 2 or 3 daycare workers at it now. they were all silent and staring at me
I turned my car on and drove home. dude got kicked out a few weeks later, don’t really know why
Always a good read, uncle Jam^!
1991 Subaru legacy wagon, very comfy
1986 Honda prelude si, not so comfy
1987 Audi 5000CS quattro, comfy
2002 VW Golf TDi, comfy
2006 Yamaha Rhino 660(not a car, nor comfy)
92 explorer slept in it for a month… times were rough waking up in a car sucks ex specially in the winter
05 Scion tC
if you remove the headrests and recline the front seat backs they will lay even with the rear seat and the rear seat backs also recline up to 45 degrees. not the most comfortable seats in the world but definitely a big plus to be able to sleep with your legs straight in an econobox.
Slept in the front seat of a sentra after funneling a 12 pack of Genny. Got the spins, made it out of the car and barfed out all the mushrooms I ate 6 hours before
I don’t remember the rest.
I spent so many nights in the range rover.
It was more comfortable than my bed.
you slept for an entire month in an Explorer during the winter… I think you win this thread.
you get runner up for sleeping in a $185,000 car for some shady reason you can’t mention.
'84 Thunderbird - Driving from Milwaukee to Rochester; did it many times. Not too bad, 5/10. It was loaded so sleeping in the drivers seat was easy.
'87 Dodge Fullsize Van - Road-trips like crazy; easy to sleep in, and generally comfortable; 8/10
93’ C-1500 std cab - camping, road-trips, etc; generally ok, slightly cramped even though I was laid out on the bench seat 5/10
'98 Blazer - Camping this year at the Regatta… cold as hell, and I JUST fit… not too bad, 5/10
97 civic - not comfortable at all…makes your spine bleed.
99 300m - actually quite roomy in the backseat, but the leather didn’t help in mid january.
95 caprice - by far the most comfortable car ive ever slept in. seats were squishy and so were the boobs!
back of an 02 s10 blazer
good time, went on a ski trip to Vermont with a friend, didn’t feel like getting a hotel cause we were cheap, brought sleeping bags and parked in the lots at the bottom of the slopes. The rear view mirror thermometer was -2F. we were woken up by the grooming cats rolling through the lot at 3AM. but they didn’t bother us. Great skiing!
8/10 w/sleeping bag
'87 Mazda RX-7 Turbo: camping, was convinced a bear would tear down my tent and kill me. very uncomfortable, I think I had a kink in my back for weeks. 2/10 only because I was protected from bears and other vicious woodland creatures
'96 Subaru Outback: at several horse shows. 6/10. not bad. folded the seats down and I had a very fluffy sleeping bag to make things more comfortable.
I can literally sleep anywhere so sleeping in a car isn’t a problem for me.
I’ve slept in the following:
Regular cab S-10
Extended cab Silverado
Regular cab Silverado
Cherokee
Liberty
Impala
Possibly others but that is all I can think of off the top of my head. The only one I would really complain about is the Liberty, when you fold the back seats down there is a bar that runs across your back, plus I’m too tall for it. Good thing I was good and wasted when I slept in it.
I sleep in cars in the following situations.
Road trips
Camping
Time between classes
Time between shifts
2000 VW Beetle
2000 VW Eurovan pop-top
1966 Splitty Bus
2000 Honda Odyssey
1991 VW Jetta
2008 VW Rabbit
Great time for this thread to pop up too, cuz I spent saturday night in my Rabbit. Somehow I acquired a blanket and a pillow…
Eurovan was by far the most comfortable. Slept 4 comfortably at some hippy-fest in North Carolina.
I’ve taken naps in cars on trips but I have never gone out of my way to stay over night in one.
So yeah, Never slept overnight in car.
Most of mine were not “going out of my way”… most of them were “EFF I’M SO WASTED HOW AM I GON – snore”
