Need HELP with RB Crankshaft Timing Gear

Hey guys, I have a slight dillema. Im doing a rebuild on my RB20, im trying to strip the motor down so i can get the oil pump off. I got the crank pulley off without a problem but the timing gear on the crankshaft is seized on big time…ive tried tapping it on all sides with a mallet, heating it up and prying…just about everything people say to do when i was researching and im not getting anywhere; the sob wont move.

I need some help and advice from people that might of done this before.

Gear Puller

there is no room to fit a gear puller, theres barely enough room to fit a flathead screw driver

the gear is soft relatively, you can drill and tap it to use a steering wheel puller, or drill only one side of the gear and shatter it by hammering a chisel into it… cheap part to buy

otherwise you have to get creative, heat/cold/penetrant/sandpaper… heat the gear with a propane torch for 2min, spray the shit out of it with lube or cold spray, let it sit, take the woodruff key out, use a hammer/screwdriver to try turning the gear on the crank, once it’s loose enough to spin, sandpaper the crank in front of it to make sure it’s free of obstructions, try more heat+lube etc

once you have it slightly pulled forward you can sometimes use a low profile 2-jaw puller, similar to a valvespring compressor, or a slide hammer with a flat hook attachment

i will give that a try again…i got the crankpulley woodruff key out thats infront of the timing gear, but it dont think its possible to take the other woodruff out from under the timing gear until you get the gear off…
