Need insurence advice please..

Parents dude… MY quote is 330/mth by myself  Posted in 2 other insurance threads.

I don’t get it, since it’s your parents insuarence you can’t tell us the company so we can try to get a quote?

And 330 for a month by yourself is pretty good…

I’m 21, 2002 rsx type-s, 4500$/yr - breaks down to 375$/month… you guys pay way too much, im first driver, full coverage.

first driver full coverage on my old car, 1989 240sx, 110$/mo, first driver.

Try getting a quote with your location as Scarborough/Toronto…

I’m 22, have my G2 still. I’m with State Farm…

As of this month my insurance for full coverage and $300 deductable is $93/month. <3 u state farm.

My parents company quoted me for waaay too much, they’re not the type of company to want to do business with people our age. The 330/mth is with Bel Air direct, on my own policy. 20, Male, G licence, one at fault accident, Richmond Hill. And I’ve posted this in like 3-4 insurance threads already.

wt if i got a 1990 240sx and planning to get an SR engine in it?.. and all the normal mods… how much would insurance be?.. about? … if im second. or maybe first??.. does anyone have any experience for that? and wt company for insurance is the best?

your rate will have to do with many things…

how long have you had your license, how old are you, do you have any accidents or speeding tickets, which class of license do you have, whether you’ve previously had insurance.

if you put the car in your name and insurance in your name then it’ll be as high as it comes or whatever… if you are able to register the car in a parents name and then go under their insurance you may get a bit of a break.

if I was you… I’d get out the phone book and just start calling Insurance Companys, tell them you have a 1990 Nissan 240sx and are looking for an inusrance quote…

Well I think he is asking more about the whole SR20 issue rather than insuring a “normal” 240sx.

On a side note I’m now paying 258.9x a month for liability and theft coverage. I’m 18, have my G (but G2 is exact same rate), I’m primary driver and have 1 speeding ticket.

check this site out prolly could help u ppl with some insurance rates. and u dun have to call or anything www.insurancehotline.com

www.kanetix.com

Why would you link people to a site that offers insurence only in California on a Canadian board ?

Uh… Kanetix is Canadian dude…

Better question is that last site… it wants me to pay $8.95 to see which insurance company is somehow only $2000 a year for me with 3 speeding tickets and never had any insurance… Seems a little fishy if you ask me…
Anyone get suckered by this yet, or is it actually legit???

James

Did you actually go to the site he linked to ? It’s only for california.

Upon further investigation, I realized the .ca version of that site is Canadian.

But my post is still right, the site he linked to is not for Canada.

Edit: and that site sucks for me, I got quoted 7600 a year for liability only. I pay like 3100 now for liability and theft.

i know my insurance will be sky high for sure. 17, g2, markham, 2 g1 tickets (still fighting ticket, doubt ill win though- i just want my points back), 92 red 240 hatch. anyone know or can aproximate my insurance? lol

Well what are the tickets for? And if you’re still fighting them they won’t be on your record yet.

Get a quote from www.belairdirect.com.

Then put liability to 500 000 instead of 1 million and take off collision/comprehensive coverage, and that should give you a decent rate.

Again I’m only paying 260 a month for liability and theft while other companies were quoting me over 700 for just liability.

2 G1 tickets? I thought you automatically lose your license for any point loss with a G1?

Weird … so if you get convicted, will you lose your license since you were under G1 conditions?

Where you live has a huge role in insurance. When I moved to Toronto from Ottawa at 18, I didn’t bother telling my insurance company I was moving.

At 18, G2 for my 63 Pontiac I was paying $64 a month. After a year of living in Toronto, I bought a new car (71 Javelin). Insurance broker asked me if my postal code was current, stupid me didn’t think and said "No, I moved to Toronto and gave her my new postal code.

No tickets, no accidents, no break in insurance, nothing. My rates jumped from $64 to $248 right then and there. I called around, and unfortunately that was the cheapest rate I could get.

Then within a year or so, the gov’t approved another hike, so my rates jumped to about $280 a month.

They stayed at that rate until I changed companies to State Farm. I had a hook up through a friend, and she managed to get my rates down to about $200 if I got life insurance too. Then after about a year with them, they tried to take my insurance away because I was under 25, and they had decided to stop insuring high risk drivers.

But I had already turned 25 like 4 months before. So I called them up, straightened it out, and my rates dropped to about $180 for being over 25. Then I got a sad sack letter from my insurance company saying how they’ve been paying out too much money, so they have to jack the rates. (oddly enough, SF turned almost a billion dollar profit, so I’m confused where all this money they were losing was). Back up to $248.

I fought with them later on again, and was cancelled. I held out payment to get an issue resolved (I told them I was doing so) and they cancelled me for non-payment.

I’ve been fighting them ever since to get the cancellation removed from my record. For some reason cancellation for non-payment makes you a high risk driver, and sets your rates back to if you were 18.

Just FYI, paying for 6 months of insurance in advance will cut your rates, and make your insurance company very happy.

iuno… but i quickly went to get my g2, however im not insured on anything therefore im not supposed to drive.

g1 tickets were for driving after 12am n driving w/o a person w/ g lic. n 4 yrs.

i was driving on 16th w/o my phone or wallet so no i.d., 4am, friends car w/o them in car, speeding doubling the limit. can call it an “emergency”… long storey. but looking back, i regret going out that day =T

for a 16yr old you have one hell of a good looking car.

waits for the “OMG JUST GOT MY G2 AND CRASHED MY DADS KOUKI OMG OMG!” thread

I dunno about the whole bel air and half a mil thing. Because they never mentioned that to me, and even if they did, I wouldn’t have taken it. I am with bel air, and I took only liability, but 2 mil, and I like it better that way. Last thing I want is for someone to sue my ass and for me to run out of insurance $.
