Need parts for a temporary KA-T build

I just bought a '93 240 KA24DE,
I need cheap parts for a temporary turbo set up on my stock KA24DE, so that when I bring the car home (hopefully soon), my parents don’t question why i have a noise coming from the engine (BOV).
I’m planning on building a proper KA-T later this year to swap with the engine I currently want to build (temporary one).
I just want the car to run at extremely low psi’s just so that theres a BOV noise.
I have no idea what I need so the more help, the better, the cheaper, the better.
If anyone can help on weekends, would much appreciate, food will be provided and I’m located in Richmond Hill.

Thanks,
glustik

here’s a break down

Ebay manifold and divorced turbo elbow $199
Ebay SR20 downpipe $25
Stock SR T25 w/ >40K miles $100
Stock SR injectors $50
Stock N62 Rb/Maxima Maf $90
Stock sidemount intercooler $20
Earls oil feed line and steel adapters $20
HKS BOV and custom welded IC pipes $200

$704 installed, 7psi on stock T25 wastegate.

so you want a turbo just for the BOV?

i dont see why, but just go to ebay and buy a fake BOV. 10.99 and you get what you want?

^^lol yea i was wonderin about that?

please explain…?

i heard about a guy who took a bottle of 3 dollar ‘dust off’ for keyboreds and such, flipped it upside down and put it uner his fender so it looked like a nos purge. same idea…

  • safc $200
  • walboro 255 $100
  • wideband $300
  • real price for an sr downpipe $80
  • decent turbo back exhaust $400
  • extra shit u need like sparkplugs … oil restrictor , gaskets

dont be fooled … ka-t’s are not cheap

hahah i know what you mean, thats funny actually

i just want glustik to explain this more, building a turbo, just so you can have a bov??? why?

this is more than true, im trying to keep my build on a budget, and im already getting way up in $$$ and i still need intercooler piping, wideband o2, turbo timer, fuel pump, fpr.

but its all worth it in the end, KA-T FTMFW!!

don’t worry i know KA-Ts are’t cheap, i’ve been researching for 1.5 years plus, but he said he wanted something cheap. the person who made that original kit did not need need a walboro 255, wideband, or any extra stuff. an old used engine, if you read the link i posted, it says exactly that  enjoy

my mistake he has an “old” afc

just for future reference those prices are not my calculated prices but straight from the forum on KA-T.org

i currently own a 2001 prelude and i’m in the process of selling it. when i sell it money will go to pay some things off and some will go towards the 240 build. my dad(and alot of plp) thinks that i’m doing the wrong thing by selling a reliable car to purchase a older one, the 240, the one i all ready bought, the one no one knows about. he’s the type of guy that thinks anybody who spends money on a car for “extra” stuff is throwing money in the garbage. so basically i just need a turbo set up under the hood so that when i bring the car home and he takes a look at it now and when he looks at it later(when real ka-t goes in) it looks more or less the same. the reason why i need a bov sound is so he dosen’t ask what that “new” noise is that my engine is making when i do the real ka-t later this year. like i said dosen’t need to be a nice strong set up just something that is passible in looks and sound. he’s not dumb he knows i’ll put money into the car but i don’t want him to know i put $$$$ into the car so if the car comes with a turbo and it just got “louder” later i can tell him something but if i bring bone stock then do a whole bunch of stuff to the engine he’ll know big money has been spent.
keep in mind that in approximately one year from sining for a condo that i just purchased, so he’s got reason to be pissed if i spend any extra money that i shouldn’t.
thanks again

700$ for a ka-t setup lol

I just finished my setup and it cost me way more than that. Remember this:

If it’s fast and cheap, it ain’t reliable. If it’s cheap and reliable, it ain’t fast. If it’s reliable and fast, it ain’t cheap

hahahahahhahahahahahahahaha

why waste money on a temp build…save the money and wait till you have a good amount to put into this…actually make it worth it

that is the most elaborate plan i have heard to hide something from your dad

i find it incredible; the length and money you’ll go to just to fool your dad you’re not spending money on a car

just man up and tell him straight out

when all said and done it will be more than 1500 if you do it properly

Put a hole in your muffler and be done with it until you go KA-T.

k, considering i’m just putting the final touches on my KA-T build, and i went cheap where i could, and bought quality where i needed it, you’re looking at approx. $2200 for a budget oriented build, you could get away a lil’ cheaper if you keep the boost low and run it off the stock ecu with 370 injectors. like, you wouldn’t need an E-Manage system or anything. check it out, it’ll give you somewhat of an idea of what you’ll be looking at.

but i would suggest doing the real thing first.

i have the T2 manifolds, divorced elbows, downpipes in stock.

i also have SR / KA intercooler piping for proper FMIC… SMIC is gay
