So he is a couple hours away, I would just go up there and get cash. Problem with paypal or any credit card processing is he could always fight the charges after he has taken possession.
Anybody who will buy a car off of forums, no haggle,c sight unseen and without even speaking with you on the phone is an obvious scam before you even worry about paypal.

Welp just avoided the biggest scam, gave the email address and cell number to a friend in law enforcement worked a little magic and this particular person has been pulling this scam which he sends the money to ur paypal account great dandy … Than what he does is contact his card say that he didn’t authorize the money that was sent u get fucked end of story more to it but u people get where it’s going fml car is still for sale lol

You can dispute it with your credit card company. Paypal doesn’t need to be involved. What happens when the card used was stolen.
You’re looking at the transaction in reverse…The dude was going to paypal him 4k when the scammer disputes the charges paypal will fuck you on the money since it was “gift” and there was no exchange of goods.
You can always work with your bank/cc company it just becomes a bigger hassle.
If you’re going to get into shady shit American Express is a great credit card for disputing charges when you compare it to visa, mastercard, etc
Yeah, I was talking about the same thing. I must have worded it wrong. If the buyer uses a stolen credit card OR the buyer does a charge back to his own credit card, it doesnt matter what PayPal method was used. I think we are on the same page.
This is like, the oldest internet scam in the book. Someone from Florida tried to buy a guitar off of me like 8 years ago this way. And, when I had my MINI for sale last year, TONS of people all over the US, Canada, Europe and Africa tried to buy my car this way.
