i was pulling into Tops on Transit going towards Lockport, guy behind me slams on brakes goes to change lanes and swipes the corner of my bumper… im like wtttf, as im pulling in he is looking back and im looking at him then trying to see the lic plate and didnt get a letter
it is like a flat like grey paint… the car is older, somewhat like these types of cars:
i could be way off on model of car but its def similar to these above…
on the trunk lid from afar i noticed a yellow ribbon magnet on the left side, put on there sideways
the driver was a guy in mid 20s or older, dark hair, some facial hair
after i got out of my car and saw the damage, i wasnt sure if i should call police right away or chase the guy and get more info… it was rush hour traffic… so i waited, filed report, tried to go down transit again but no luck
IDK if i will go through my insurance because the deductible may be not worth it to fix the damage… it is paint scrapes on the back left corner of my TL ,takin pix of it later today, its not HORRIBLE, most can be buffed out i think, but annoying and shitty that the guy took off after he saw me pull over.
Sucks man.
I would always secure the other driver before worrying about my cars damage. You can assess damage once you know the culprit is not going to run on ya.
At this point it doesn’t matter if someone does find the car. How many 80’s oldsmobiles/crown vics out there don’t have some front end damage? The police aren’t going to come out and try to match paint or anything like that over a minor property damage hit and run.
The guy ran. If you find him today he’s going to say it wasn’t him and you’ll still be paying out of pocket. Moral of the story, like TB said, follow anyone who hits you until they pull over and call the police while you’re following them.
