New MR2 tail lights and some shots tonight...

Man, I love driving this car…hopefully the weather stays without snow and salt…

For anyone that hasn’t seen it by now, I waited 5 years too long, in upgrading my tails from the stock 91’s to the 94+ MR2 tails. Finally got some pictures of them. What a difference…

Anyways heres some shots, and before as well. The pictures are at the Gall. mall parking garage, and at Glen Falls. The car is NOT clean at all, as it’s been pissing rain all day, and my Powerslots have made all the Porterfield dust stick like a mofo. Ah well, rain shots are cool either way.

The Kosei’s in bronze are another set now. I have 2 sets of the same sized Kosei’s now, in both silver and bronze. 16x7.5 FR, 16x8.5 RR. 15 lbs. each, to boot…

the bronze wheels are on the car in the pics right? they look silver in every pic to me.

either way. nice shots

looking hot, what took so long?! lol just playin

Your car is not clean at all, but I do see some nice beady action!

I like the new tails, but of course since I spent probably an hour and a half with your others I’m fairly partial.

93z24 - No, the silver ones are on the car. Your eyes are fine…

jballz86 - The justification of $450 for god damn tails is what took so long. I always said it would be the first mod, but then it was like, there’s so many more sensible mods I got to do first.

Corey, don’t worry man, I still got the 91 tails, I’m prob. going to run power to them and use them in my basement bar.

looks good

Looks good

are the tails jdm or something?

I really don’t see the difference. Nice looking car though. Rare find, especially around here.

Even rarer at the end of december for god sakes.

Don’t see the difference? Look closer. Circle tails, flush center panel, Reverse lights in center panel…

Yeah, they’re certainly rare around here too. Less than 10 in WNY if I were to guess. As far as it being December, I drive it every day that there’s no salt/snow on the road.

One of the few Japanese cars I’d consider owning. Looks great!

sensible like lotus badges on a toyota?

looks delicious

i really want one of these when im done with my 300zx. how easy are they to get up around 400 wheel?

your cars are so fly…i just want to leg hump you.

seriously, they are real hot.

and woody, it would take quite a bit of work to get those to 400 wheel. and with 400 wheel in that car, i’m pretty sure you would just spin.

its not a fwd vw. it may be light but im sure you can get traction with a stiff suspension and the right tires. do these have an lsd? how stout are the 3s motors?

Are you going to be selling said 300zx? :stuck_out_tongue: :snky:

5 years ago 300 wheel reliable was difficult. nowadays, 400 wheel reliable is a piece of cake.

with a moderate build the 3s is a great high revving engine that can spin to 9k and make 400. no matter how well built, even with cryogenic treatment, a 3s over ~550 will crack between cylinder walls 2 and 3.

a better option is to frankenstein the 3s head with the 5s block, as the original 2.2 5s N/A motor is much more stout. you have to tap oil lines and do extra work, but it’s all that much better when you are up in the 800s

i know all this for a reason :snky:. not really… my super block has been in the works for 5 months and i was just emailed a week ago from the shop claiming they built a 3s instead of a 5s. www.atsracing.com

anyways, sorry for the hijack. i don’t understand why you got another set of kosei’s. should of gotten blitz type 03s. =)

the tails are great though  , very long overdue

and i may still want to have evan help me. i know, i know, i’m on the fence!

edit: newer trannys ( USDM or JDM , 94+ ) have an LSD, some older JDM ( 91 - 93 ) ones do also, but it’s the worst LSD on the face of this planet and shouldnt even be considered

Jim - It’s more sensible than your wing. Ya jackass…

Woody - Pretty capable, but that’s a lot of power in an MR2. It really is.

Dex - Thanks man, they’re a lot of fun. Very nice compliments to one another. I’m really amazed, now having a Lotus, as to how good the MR2 really is.

Adam - I just really love the Kosei’s, what can I say…I think a bronze set would look pretty nice.

no im not selling my z yet. i have goals to accomplish still. like smoking you kyle :stuck_out_tongue:

yeah concidering how light they are, a 400 wheel mr2 would really scoot. ive always loved these cars. yours is a fine example of how they should look.

Lol, its not like i put a Mitsu wing and then badged my car to be an Evo… you might as well get some vtec badges

1 vote for Joe for ricer of the year

edit: also why the fuck didn’t you just powdercoat or paint your rims?!?!

Yeah, but you even want the EVO wing for your STi.

And, I’d rather have 2 sets than one.
