Really though… do you need a TTV10 to make ~600hp?

Up until that shot I was putting my testicles on ebay to pay for one of these.

No clutch pedal no care.

lol @ the brakes

Go drive a DSG powered car and you’ll rephrase. Granted, you sold a jetta for an xterra…

Doubtful. And yes, I did trade a late model Mexican built VW with 100k and a bunch of problems for a brand new Nissan truck. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

sick… needs to be a stick though.

Blah blah blah

Car > wannabe truck.

As per the DSG discussion, the gearbox is nothing short of phenominal, I have zero doubts that Audi’s DSG is the best clutched sequential “street” box on the market. It’s better than everything Ferrari has up until the F430/Enzo box (havent been in either) it’s better than BMW’s SMG (I, II, or III), and the auto in their 335i, etc. Fantastic gearbox, seamlessly on the power, combined with PERFECT downshifts at all revs, it’ll make anyone a cleaner driver. What’s not to like? (Oh, and it’ll hold gears, and bounce the rev limiter and drives like a manual).

Call it what you like, the Xterra fits my life way better than a car.

I like having a clutch pedal to modulate.

I’m resisting posting anything else since I haven’t had any coffee yet.

Have a nice day.

OK, got all that pesky blood out of my caffein stream. So since you’re challenging my posts as incorrect, lets resume our intelligent discussion.

Part 1: car > wannabe truck.

You seem reasonably intelligent, so I’m sure we can both agree that a sweeping conclusion like that does not apply to all situations. Since we are referring to my having traded my Jetta for an Xterra, what is it about MY situation that makes a car the better vehicle? I was under the impression that I needed a larger vehicle for maintaining my home, such as when I brought home 20 2x4’s and 300 pounds of concrete bags in one trip on Saturday, or when I brought home a shelving system in a large box on Sunday. There are other various reasons, but if you can argue which vehicle is best for me then you must be familiar with my personal situation and the needs and desires that the vehicle must fulfill. Please enlighten me as to what it is about my personal situation that makes a car the superior vehicle.

Also, you claim this is a wannabe truck. How does an inanimate object claim to be something at all, much less something it is not? It is what it is, and in the case of a 2007 Nissan Xterra, it is of the type of vehicle classified as a “Sport Utility Vehicle.” Sometimes these are referred to as “trucks” as they are typically based on the design and major components of a pickup truck, as is the case of the Xterra which is based on the Nissan Titan.

Part 2: Explanation of why you prefer DSG.

I’m confused. I stated that I prefer a traditional manual transmission. You stated that I would prefer a DSG, but then presented reasons why YOU prefer a DSG. Preference is an intrinsically personal thing, so if you are going to argue that I should prefer something I don’t you need to argue how something else better fulfills that which I desire and value, not that which you desire and value.

So lets procede.

What is my personal situation, and how does a car better fulfill my needs and desires?

What is it that I value that a DSG better fulfills than a traditional manual transmission?

The reason they use it is so the tranny lasts, as they don’t currently make a manual that can handle the power. Would I rather have a manual yes, does it having dsg detract from it’s hotness? NOPE
