I recently bought a set of Rota Boost wheels in bronze, the specs are 17x8, 35mm offset. I just got the tires for them, 255/40/17 Azenis Rt-615. Here are the pictures with no fitment issues.
As you can see by the last picture I need to do my suspension soon. The rear tires are only contacting the ground with 3/4 of the surface. This will be fixed by the Ingalls rear camber adjuster. I’m also going to be installing the complete energy suspension bushing set, Tien coilover suspension with EDFC, rear swaybar and eliminating active rear toe within the next month.
But as of right now I am really happy with the improvement in handling just from the new wheels and rubber.
I am pretty sure that the offset was planned and calculated since I had to choose the specs when I ordered them. I wanted 17x8 wheels with a 255 tire so I figured out what offset would clear my suspension and ordered. Hence no fitment issues, the tires do not rub on the inner wheel wells even during tight turns. I personally like the offset, it gives it a very aggressive looking stance and it handles like a mofo.
The rear will not only look correct but will handle better with the Ingalls rear camber adjuster previously mentioned.
Just as a sidenote the stock tire for this vehicle is 205/55/16, the widest most people can usually fit is 225-235 tires.
Yours stick out almost exactly as much as mine do. I guess I have a good frame of reference if I decide to go to 255’s looking at Gary’s car as do you…
